The college was originally built in 1966 on 200 acres (0.81 km) outside of Prescott, Arizona.
Prescott College was founded in 1966.
Since its opening in 1966, more than 9,000 students have enjoyed the College’s highly individual philosophy of higher education that mandates and incorporates experiential learning into every course.
In 1974 the college went bankrupt due to poor fiscal management and the loss of anticipated donor funds.
Prescott College Southern was first established as Noarlunga Districts Adventist Primary School in 1977.
Prescott College was founded in 1966. It first offered distance learning courses in 1978.
The years 1997 and 1998 saw significant growth with four new classes being added within those years. As a result of the significant growth, a ceiling of 175 students was set in 1998.
In fall 2012, the college completed a $7.4M on-campus sustainable housing project, the Village, to accommodate up to 104 first-year students.
PC was an early adopter of Prior Learning Assessment and in 2014 was certified a Veteran Supportive Campus by the Arizona Department of Veterans Services—the first private college in AZ to receive such a designation.
Our first Year 12 graduation took place in 2016.
