The Operation Technician – Process will be responsible for operation of fabricating machines that may punch, cut, shape, bend, sheets, tubes and structures. This person will need to safely setup and operate machines, follow prints and directions, label and organize parts, handle materials to the work station and equipment. This person will be required to wear PPE for the job.
Duties & Responsibilities: All duties and responsibilities are essential functions of the position. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
-Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
-Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
-Positions stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
-Pushes button or depresses pedal to activate machine.
-Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
-Measures work piece dimensions, using rule, template, or other measuring instruments to determine accuracy of machine operation.
-Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece, using file, hand grinder, or wire brush.
-Performs minor machine maintenance, such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces.
-Assists machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.
-May rivet and spot-weld work pieces.
-May tend machines that fabricate and assemble sheet metal products.
-Read Blueprints
-Plate and structural layout using squares, center heads, tape measure and other measuring devices
-Operate hand torch, hand plasma, and track burner
-Operate grinders, die grinders, bench grinders to deburr material
-Operate an overhead crane and jib hoist

Position Summary:

Press brake operators produce parts from metals and plastics using computer numeric controlled (CNC) equipment that will make precision bends according to blueprints. Operators will make set-ups, adjustments to speeds, material thickness, appropriate tonnage, and tooling for each part being formed. They will make sure that the machine is working well on full capacity, is well-maintained, and producing quality products making periodic checks on formed parts; to ensure the product is ready for the next operation.

Skilled Press Brake Operator Requirements.

• Experience operating CNC machines
• Experience operating Press Brakes a plus
• Knowledge of blueprint reading highly desired
• Perform inspections using calipers, protractors and measuring angles
• Ability to use a computer
• Mechanical and technical skills
• Inspect and maintain equipment with safety requirements
• Capable of doing repetitive movements
• At least 3 years of experience in Fabrication
• Daily standing position and lifting variety of parts, sizes and weights. (Up to 50 lbs)

Shift:

• 2nd – Monday through Friday – 4:00 pm – 12:30 am (Daily OT available at manager's discretion)
