What you will do as a Machine Operator
* Set-up and operate fabrication equipment: CNC punch press, CNC Laser, CNC press brakes, manual shear, mechanical presses and die sets, fabricator, plate roller, drills and tapping heads.
* Program CNC press brakes and also adjust parameters within the CNC controls on punch press and laser.
* Perform basic, daily maintenance on fabrication equipment.
* Read and interpret fabrication blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), shop orders / routings and other working documents.
* Work with computers to claim shop orders, retrieve CNC programs and engineering blueprints and drawings.
* Effectively use calipers, micrometers, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), steel rules, protractors and tape measures to measure production parts.
* Take responsibility for the quality of all parts by inspecting and immediately reporting any problems, discrepancies/or irregularities to the supervisor.
* Follow 5S methodology to keep machines and work area clean, neat and orderly on a daily basis.
* Assist in training other employees in the fabrication department.
* Remain safety conscious at all times, wearing all prescribed personal protective equipment and by observing all safety rules stated in the Employee Handbook.
* Complete any and all projects, assignments and duties as directed and instructed.
* Conform to all policies, procedures and rules of conduct as communicated through the Employee Handbook, Bulletin Boards, Newsletters and any other vehicle by which information is distributed by STERIS Management.

Position Summary:
As a CBC Machine Operator for Carl Buddig & Company you will be responsible for producing product by preparing and packaging cooked product for shipment with a safety - minded attitude that maintains and enhances a safety culture for the benefit of the Company and its employees.
DEPARTMENT: CARL BUDDIG (LUNCHMEAT)
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates production operations of a line consisting of 4 - 10 people.
Responsible for product quality, workmanship, and methods applications resulting in above standard economical manufacturing costs and general line administration.
Coordinates the training of line personnel to maintain a workforce that is above standard in skill requirements, output, and daily schedules.
Reviews daily production completed compared to standards and implement procedures for continuous improvement.
Assures quality of packaged product by completing daily recordkeeping including, but not limited to: Oxygen testing; Seal testing; label compliance; assigning proper code dating for product being packaged; case counts, pallet times, box identification, etc.
Maintains machine by completing adjustments, maintenance, and calibration during set up, operation, and after changeover.
Performs general light maintenance and troubleshooting of machines and related equipment (equipment used for product breakdown [clipper tables, link cutters, Magnuson, etc.], label machines, vacuum pumps, case sealing equipment, computer printers, etc.)
Takes responsibility of work area to produce a safe and quality food product. Reports all food safety related problems to your manager and to the QA Dept. in order to initiate immediate action.
Requires a basic understanding of GMP's, HACCP and SQF guidelines.
Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less and be able to lift up to 35 pounds for 30 minutes at a time.
Must be flexible and able to work as needed.
Must be willing to work within the two businesses (OW and CBC).
Must be able to work in a high-speed packaging environment and be able to stand for up to 8 - 10 hours per day.

The Machine Operator may operate a variety of machines in the shop including angle line machine, beveller, saw, shear, oxy or plasma burner, laser cutter, rolling machine, flattening press or machine, shot blaster, manual and robotic welders, press brake, machining center or lathe, and tube or custom laser.
Duties and Responsibilities
Commitment to workplace safety.
Set-up and operate machines including adjustment and/or replacement of expendable tooling, guides, jigs and fixtures.
Operate an angle line machine, beveller, saw, shear, oxy or plasma burner, laser cutter, rolling machine, flattening press or machine, shot blaster, manual and robotic welders, press brake, machining center or lathe, and tube or custom laser.
Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Ability to operate forklift and cranes.
Ability to read and interpret simple blueprints.
Ability to use a variety of hand tools such as hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, drill, grinder and bander.
Ability to use measuring tools such as tape measure, box caliper, slide dial caliper and micrometer.
Ability to convert fractions to decimals and vice versa.
Ability to convert metric to English.
Provide high quality work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
Capable of setting up and operating one or more processing machines.
Speak, write and comprehend conversational English.
Strong attention to detail.
High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following.
Machine Setup:
Prepare the FFS machine for operation by configuring it according to the specific product, packaging material, and production requirements.
Load and align packaging materials, including film and lid stock roll roll good , onto the machine.
Set up and adjust printing function on the machine.
Set up and adjust machine components, such as forming tubes, fillers, and sealing bars, to meet production specifications.
Operation:
Monitor the FFS machine during operation to ensure it runs smoothly and efficiently.
Start and stop the machine as needed for product changeovers, material replenishment, and maintenance.
Control the machine's speed, temperature, and other parameters to maintain product quality and consistency.
Quality Control:
Inspect packaged products for quality, including proper seals, accurate filling, and correct labeling.
Make necessary adjustments to the machine settings to correct any defects or issues in the packaging process.
Conduct routine quality checks and record data to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Troubleshooting:
Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions or operational issues promptly.
Perform minor repairs and adjustments, such as changing worn-out parts or clearing jams.
Notify maintenance or engineering personnel for major repairs or complex issues.
Maintenance:
