SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for operation of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment in a GMP environment for the purpose of making clinical supplies and performing development experiments. Incumbent is also responsible for leading manufacturing activities in assigned production rooms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Train on, comply with, and understand all policy and procedures at Experic including Regulatory, Safety, SOPs, Work Instructions, etc.
Assist in the development of new processes in procedures under the management direction including: Becoming subject matter expert for pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.
Adapting understanding of equipment into (write) new SOPs and work instructions and assisting in the training of additional staff on equipment specialty.
Front line troubleshooting of processes and equipment.
Perform Pharmaceutical Manufacturing activities including: Batch Documentation/Record Generation, Materials sampling, staging, dispensing, and return. Pharmaceutical Equipment and Room set-up, operation, and cleaning. Use of appropriate personal safety equipment and engineering controls. In-process inspection and sampling. Use Experic IT Platform.
Perform developmental manufacturing experiments under the direction of management.
Support investigational and quality systems activities.
Assist maintenance in the performance of preventative maintenance activities, troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
Participate in continuous improvement activities at Experic.
Carries out duties in compliance with all federal and state regulations and guidelines.
Complies with all company and site policies and procedures.
Mechanical Aptitude, curiosity to explore complex machinery, and a desire to learn new processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Requires a bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Scientific Field with one (1) year of experience in Pharmaceutical or Life Science area or a High School Diploma and four (4) years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing with an emphasis on working on the implementation of new equipment and processes.

Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor sheeter machinery to ensure proper cutting, slitting, and sheet conversion according to production specifications.
Safely load and unload jumbo rolls onto the sheeter machine, ensuring proper alignment and tension control.
Fine-tune machine settings to optimize performance, minimize waste, and maintain high-quality output.
Perform blade replacements and adjustments as needed, ensuring precision and efficiency in cutting operations.
Conduct routine maintenance, lubrication, and inspections to keep equipment in peak operating condition.
Maintain an organized inventory of critical spare parts, ensuring timely availability to prevent downtime.
Identify and resolve mechanical and operational issues to minimize disruptions and maintain productivity.
Monitor finished sheets for accuracy, defects, and compliance with customer specifications.
Follow all safety protocols, including proper lockout/tagout procedures and PPE usage.

Qualifications:
Previous experience operating sheeter machinery or similar converting equipment preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs.

Align, position, secure and fit parts and panels at machine according to the setup instructions
Inspect, maintain and operate machines according to set procedures
Inspect, perform necessary repairs and report all quality issues to supervisor
Maintain written logs of daily operation as required
Maintain consumable on hand inventory as required
Measure and inspect workpiece for conformance to specifications and standards as required
Notifies supervisor of all machine discrepancies, issues and machine malfunctions
Adjusts machine control parameters according to specifications when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
3+ years of experience in:
- Operating numerical controlled machines in machine shops or
- Programming automated machine systems in:
o Milling
o Cutting
o Bending/forming/stamping
o Welding
o Robotics
Basic knowledge of machines and equipment
Basic knowledge in the use of computers, programming, and automated production systems
Basic knowledge of welding processes
Understanding of engineered drawings and technical documents
Knowledge of shipbuilding methods and equipment is a plus
Knowledge of milling, burning, welding, forming, bending, or stamping depending upon position applied for
Skilled to utilize typical tools necessary for the position
Knowledge of work place safety

WORK ENVIRONMENT

As a Machine Operator, you will be assigned to work on lines and may work in one or more workstations. You will be required to be proficient in multiple assets in a given location. You will be responsible for machine setups and changeovers, problem-solving, performing PMs, and making decisions on machine adjustments.
Responsibilities
Load raw material into machine and unload finished product
Determine and control the machine cycle varying and modifying it as necessary
Perform tests and check products routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring devices and making some judgments against not readily measurable standards
Meet production schedules and program production sequences for optimal productivity
Follow standard operating procedures and specifications or instructions of higher-level technical personnel and monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications
Operating a Forklift and machinery throughout the shift
Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance
Follow all health, safety, and housekeeping procedures, policies, and practices and consistently work in a safe manner with regard to self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems
Support safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
Assist and support other team members in meeting department and site goals
Participate and share in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility

Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, trade school, or combination of training and experience
3+ years of relevant manufacturing machine operator experience

Grind Set-up
Summary: Sets up and operates grinding machines to grind diameter surfaces on metal objects to specifications by performing the following duties.
Must be Grind Operator qualified
Troubleshoots and repairs equipment as needed.
Moves controls to position tool and work pieces in relation to each other, and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
Selects positions of machine to insure product being made meets specifications.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. #CB
