Requirements: Must have experience in a metal working environment, preferably chain manufacturing with an emphasis on heat treatment and metal finishing processes. Able to read and interpret engineering blueprints and specifications. Must be self-starter. Able to understand and follow procedures for both quality & operations of the process area. Must be a team player-capable of working with peers and supervisors. Must be flexible and capable of adapting work practices as required to suit the needs of the business. Must be capable of handling weights in excess of 50 lbs. Follow direction / instruction of group leader or supervisor. Position Responsibilities * Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees. * Set up machine, observe operation, and inspect first run and sample work piece to ensure machining conforms to specifications. * Read blueprint or job order for product and job specifications such as wire type, dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be run, and tooling instructions. * Select, install, and adjust specified tooling to conform to production run sheet and sets forming speeds and feed rates. * Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance inspections as required. * Observe all safety rules. * Perform routine and preventative machine maintenance. * Assist other machine operators to set up machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces. * Maintain a neat and well-organized work area. * Perform other tasks as assigned. Position Requirements * High school diploma or equivalent. * Experience in cold heading, pointing, and/or threading preferred. * Capable of using standard tools and measurement devices such as micrometers, scales, rulers, depth gauges and calipers. * Ability to interpret safety instructions, job orders, blueprints, quality specifications, and other related documents. * Good written and verbal communication skills. * Strong math and mechanical reasoning skills. * Ability to contribute as part of a team. * Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills. * Strong sense of responsibility and ownership. * Positive can-do attitude. Physical Requirements * Ability to work in high noise areas and wear appropriate hearing protection devices. * Manual material handling involving the need to grip, squeeze, and pinch. * Ability to use hard tined rake to move/break apart parts frequently. * The position requires the ability to regularly stand. * The position requires good close vision and depth perception skills. * Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and regularly lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
