Also responsible for all aspects of safe machine operation in the area of assigned responsibility. Responsible for ensuring that all finished product from machines is packaged for shipment according to the customer's specifications and internal requirements including internal good manufacturing practices / guidelines. Demonstrated ability to start all types of injection presses from a “cold” start state. To demonstrate this ability, employees must be able to understand and explain the function / operation of the injection machine and process parameters on all current plant injection molding equipment. Have the ability to understand and achieve established production standards by being able to set machine conditions to obtain optimum cycle without sacrificing quality. Demonstrate organizational ability to complete daily clean-up assignments, and adequately maintain good housekeeping throughout the entire area of responsibility. When a quality problem is detected, it is the responsibility of the Machine Operator to take corrective action and notify Lead, Quality and Shift Technician. This role ensures continuous, efficient, and safe production by operating shredders, dewatering presses, mixers, plodders, cutters, and stampers used in the recycling and reforming of collected materials. The operator will be cross trained across both the soap and plastic recycling processes to maximize production output, ensure product quality, and maintain machine reliability.
