Job Summary:
The brake press operator will manufacture a variety of parts by forming or bending metal to the precise dimension and degrees. The process of forming parts will include print reading, die changes, quality checks, computers skills, machine setup and computer programming. The operator must be able to maintain flow and work in a safe manner.
Essential Job Functions:
* Operate the brake press to form and bend conveyor components
* Read blueprints to determine the flange length or where to bend the part
* Recall basic CNC programming and / or edit basic CNC programming on the operator's panel.
* Change the brake press dies to the appropriate die.
* Quality checks, detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
* Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
* Familiar with measuring tools and must be able to interpret and perform simple math.
