The hours for this position will be Monday through Friday, full-time from 2:15 am - 11:00 pm. The Machine Operator is responsible for operating the Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) vacuum coating machines under the supervision and direction of the Production Manager. This job is responsible for the setup, monitoring, and basic maintenance of PVD coating machines. The position largely entails loading and unloading of machines, basic preventative maintenance, and inputting of parameters into a Windows-based PLC. Duties of the position include the following: Operating and maintaining PVD coating machines according to company specifications. Minimizing equipment downtime through preventative maintenance procedures. Maintaining and updating equipment PM logs. Skills / Qualifications * High school diploma or GED is a plus; vocational or technical training preferred. * Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is a plus. * Experience operating or working with mills (manual or CNC) or other metalworking machinery is highly desirable. * Familiarity with machining processes such as cutting, drilling, or grinding. * Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues. * Basic math and measurement skills. * Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, or schematics. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. * Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as needed. Work Environment: * Regular standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs. * Use of hands and manual dexterity for precise machining and tool work. * Exposure to loud noises, coolant, sharp tools, and metal shavings.
