Responsibilities:
The CNC Brake PressOperator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC brake presses to form metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. This role requires precision, mechanical aptitude, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Set up, program, and operate CNC brake presses (Cincinnati and Safan styles) to complete established production runs and new jobs.
Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and programs based on job specifications and production documents.
Create, modify, and optimize programs to improve setup times, efficiency, and part accuracy.
Perform forming and bending operations within tolerances of ±0.010”.
Inspect and measure parts using precision measuring tools to verify conformance to blueprints and quality standards.
Identify and resolve tooling or production issues to maintain workflow and minimize downtime.
Document and report material, production, and quality issues to supervision and quality assurance teams.
Assist in operator-level preventive maintenance and upkeep of machines and tooling.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Support training and mentorship for Level I operators as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and comply with all PPE, safety, and OSHA requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong background in metal press forming and basic fabrication processes.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
Experience operating and programming CNC brake presses, preferably Cincinnati and Safan controls.
Knowledge of setup optimization, bend sequencing, and tooling selection.
