Job Summary
To safely set-up, adjust and monitor printing presses to ensure they run at prescribed quality and efficiency standards. Reviews press retains (samples) after each roll for print defects and addresses defects immediately. Follows the quality hold procedures for all nonconforming materials.
Manages inks effectively. Measuring viscosities manually using a #2 Zahn cup and a stop watch as well as using viscometers. Communicates and works effectively with onsite ink vendor.
Follows and meets production schedules for customer orders.
Completes all required tasks in TWS (Transition Works), including issuing input rolls to the order, reporting run time and downtime, reporting waste, printing labels for finished goods, moving storage locations, and reporting production for the order.
Completes required reports accurately.
Acquires and demonstrates a good working knowledge of flexographic printing equipment and be able to perform cold start ups, web the press, and perform most press maintenance level jobs.
Able to manage the press and personnel, teach and lead others, trouble shoot all printing and peripheral equipment and perform roll on-loading and off-loading.
Safely store and remove anilox rolls, bridges, and sleeves.
Maintain anilox roll cleanliness using the Sanilox cleaner.
Understand the relationship between plate mounting and its affect on the job as it prints.
Shift to shift communication and hand over will be critical to performance standards
Must keep cleaners, towels, and supplies ready at press.
Work with and through others to accomplish required tasks.
Communicates concerns and ideas effectively to Printing Management.
Strictly follows all AIB, GMP audit guidelines. Maintains cleanliness of equipment

We are looking to fill a 2nd shift press helper position.
Responsibilities include:
Mounts plates.
Pulls and layout tooling for production orders.
Supports the operator with set-up and tear-down.
Operates the presses through lunch and break periods when necessary.
Monitors the ink levels, paper levels, and fount solution.
Fills ink and dampening solution fountains and adjusts controls to regulate flow of ink and dampening solution to plate cylinder.
At shift change, check and refill as needed the fount solution, paper, plates, and inks. Make certain that area is clean, empty trash, and empty trace.
Must work well with others in a team environment.
Recording of time and production for job costing.
Ability to meet daily production standards.
Performs all required preventative maintenance in accordance to production schedule.
Maintains a clean and organized work area and press.
Observe company work rules and safety regulations.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Shift hours are:
10:30pm-6:30am (3rd shift)
