In this job, every day you will…
* Provide direct and indirect supervision of the community operation along with training, coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations of all staff members.
* Ensure that the nursing services provided meet the needs of the residents in accordance to the developed service plans and the service plans meet the required state codes and company policies.
* Ensure that census expectations are met and that the resident admission process documentation is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established policy and procedure.
* Oversee the recruitment and retention of qualified staff throughout the residence, making sure background checks, reference checks and licenses are cleared before the employee is released to work on the floor.

Additional coursework in management are an asset. Ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee management situations. Job Summary:
Expressions Director is responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing personal care services for the Expressions unit of the Assisted Living Residence.
Essential Functions:
Assists and trains Personal Care Assistants in attaining the skills needed to meet the care needs of the residents, fostering a non-clinical, resident-centered approach to the planning and delivery of services, and supporting residents' rights to participate in decision-making.
Participates in gathering and collecting the resident Life Story information and 100 Things about Me within 30 days of move-in and trains PCA's on how to use this information to perform ADL's.
Assists and trains the Personal Care Assistants on how to use the resident's life story information to perform routine tasks and ADL's.
Completes initial Service Plans for new residents at move-in, schedules plan review conferences within thirty days from move-in, and complete necessary paperwork on move-out, transfer, etc. in accordance with established policies and procedure.
Completes Service Plans for each resident per Prestige policy and procedure, ensuring that levels of care are accurate and appropriately identified.
Provides documentation of resident services and responses, changes in resident condition and service plan changes in accordance with established policies and procedure notifying physicians and family members or personal representatives regarding changes.
Participates in trouble-shooting, communicates needs and changes as they occur with other departments and makes written and oral reports and recommendations to the Health Services Director. Implements programs and standards as recommended by the Health Services Director or Executive Director.
Maintains the Medication Room in a clean and safe manner and submit orders for medications, supplies and equipment as prescribed the physicians and as established by the community policies and procedures.
Completes accident and incident reports for residents when appropriate. Notify physicians or designated representative as necessary.
Participates in bi-monthly educational support phone calls with expressions product manager and attends and participates in in-service classes and outside programs as requested by Health Service Director maintaining up to date knowledge of current regulations and guidelines as well as professional standards.
Assumes the authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the Personal Care department assigned to the Expressions unit including private-duty care staff ensuring all follow the established health services policies and procedures.
Participates in the marketing efforts of the management team by representing the residence in a positive manner to outside agencies and participating in residence social functions.
Attends and participates in resident activities. Assists the Activities Director with coordination, planning and execution of Expressions of My Life hallmark programming. Works in collaboration with activities director to create monthly activities calendar.
Performs other related duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Two-year Associate Degree and a minimum of two years working in geriatrics or three years in a management position, with experience with budgets, staff development, training and scheduling.
Certification or License as required by local regulations.
Ability to creatively problem solve in both resident care and employee management situations.
Additional coursework in management are an asset.
