Overview

As a Pricing Actuary within our Americas Team, you will play a key role in pricing support, segmentation models, and portfolio management to provide recommendations in support of our growing range of insurance products. You will work closely with our internal stakeholders to recommend innovative solutions to our partners, as well as external stakeholders such as underwriters to discuss portfolio results and propose changes.
To drive success in this role, you should be naturally curious about our insurance products and the suite of available data, leveraging your analytical skills to drive high impact changes in our products. You will perform pricing reviews and monitor the book of business across product verticals and underwriters with a clear goal of optimizing value for Cover Genius.

What will your day look like? You will...
Utilise knowledge of actuarial pricing methodology and concepts to produce pricing, risk management and product recommendations
Contribute to the development and implementation of new products through initial pricing and underwriting guidelines
Support the insurance partnerships teams with ad-hoc and scheduled reviews of rate development, LR monitoring and product development stages
Work closely with the Data, Platform, and Data Science Teams to design and develop our unique insurance products
Provide insights to internal and external stakeholders to support insurance partners, internal insurance carrier and reinsurer relationships
Demonstrate a positive and proactive approach with stakeholders and address their concerns
Identify opportunities to continuously improve processes to address inefficiencies and risks
Develop skills in relevant data and modelling software to contribute for development and implementation of best practice in pricing, modelling and dashboards.
Build and own dashboards for different market segments to monitor loss ratio

Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Data Science
Associate or Fellow Qualified actuary
2+ years of actuarial experience in the property & casualty/non-life insurance industry
Strong technical, analytical and mathematical skills.

Proven ability to foster and develop relationships with key external and internal stakeholders

Essential Job Functions
● Lead end-to-end experimentation: hypothesis generation, metric design, experiment design (A/B, multivariate, sequential, etc.), analysis, and interpretation.
● Build and maintain evaluation frameworks for LLMs: correctness, consistency, safety, hallucination detection, bias/fairness, etc.
● Develop predictive models, classification/ranking systems, and heuristics to improve product features related to AI/language generation.
● Collaborate with prompt engineers & model builders to test prompt strategies, fine-tuning, or model selection; work on failure modes/error analysis.
● Automate experiment pipelines: dashboards, monitoring, alerting, instrumentation. Ensure data quality & measurement integrity.
● Use causal inference / observational studies when randomized experiments are not feasible.
● Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical leadership; influence roadmap decisions.

Requirements

Proven track record in both startup-style and large-scale product experimentation.

Strong background with statistical methods, causal inference, and rigorous measurement.
Experience using LLMs / NLP / AI / prompt engineering or a closely related field.

Responsibilities
Develop a deep understanding of customer journey phases and key business metrics
Perform analytical deep-dives to analyze problems and opportunities, identify the hypothesis and design & execute experiments
