This is a 2nd shift position. The Maintenance Utility Operator is responsible for performing the necessary tasks to support various tasks required to maintain plant equipment and the facility. The Maintenance Utility Operator will perform basic tasks which include but not limited to activities such as C-frame changeovers, minor weld repair, tip changes, building chutes / trays, and equipment cleaning / upkeep. The Maintenance Utility Operator will report to the Maintenance Supervisor. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: General description of essential functions identified below: • Operates Hilo, aerial/scissor lift and die cart. • Performs minor fab work. • Performs minor press & welder PM's. • Assists with tip changes, and C-frame changeovers. • Equipment cleaning / upkeep • PM and cleaning of nut feeders. • Capable of learning and utilizing Maximo system for data entry and PM tracking. • Adheres to all safety guidelines and monitors tool room for potential safety concerns. • Treats all Team Members with respect and dignity. • Performs other tasks as assigned. Mechanically and electrically troubleshoot, inspect, and test valves at specified job worksites. Primary worksites include FCX valve repair centers with occasional customer in-field work sites. The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring, repairing, and maintaining all plant systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This includes, but is not limited to, balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. The Technician responds to equipment failures, performs corrective action, and ensures all systems are operating properly. This position reports to the Plant Maintenance Manager. Essential Duties & Responsibilities To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to execute each duty satisfactorily. Other related tasks may be assigned. Perform equipment repairs in compliance with Waste Management Safety & Life Critical Rules and OSHA requirements. Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PM), diagnose issues, and repair/rebuild major equipment, including: Balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, loaders, and facility equipment. Maintain Daily Equipment Inspection (DEI) backlog. Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules; notify Plant Maintenance Manager if work cannot be completed within Standard Repair Times (SRTs). Inspect quality of third-party repairs/rebuilds. Recommend improvements to enhance production, equipment performance, and product quality. Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns. Manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, to support facility needs. Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. Education & Experience High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of relevant maintenance experience. Certificates/Licenses/Other Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age.
