A manufacturing company is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Clerk to prepare parts for shipment and verify incoming and outgoing shipments. This is a first shift opening working 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Job Responsibilities:
Pack parts, thread protect, skid parts, wrap, and prepare shipping documents
Load and unload trucks and schedule truck and vans
Affix shipping labels on packed cartons identifying shipping information on cartons
Assemble wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers and insert items into containers
Nail covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape
Stamp, stencil, or glue identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
Post weight and shipping charges and affixes postage
Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages, and route items to departments
Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies
Operate tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area

Position Summary: The Shipping Clerk is responsible for tracking and tracing all Leaf Home shipments. The Shipping Clerk's key responsibility will be making sure Leaf Home's internal partners are promptly notified of impending shipments. Additionally, they will play a key role in scheduling freight for pickup, preparing shipping documents, and maintaining internal information as needed.

Track and trace all Leaf Home shipments.
Build shipments in our internal systems and select the best mode/carrier.
Issue freight arrival notices to internal and external locations through reports and software.
Issue parcel arrival notices to internal locations through reports.
Prepare and proof shipping documents as required.
Inform management of ongoing performance issues
Assist the Transportation Supervisor, Warehouse Specialists, and other team members when needed.
Send transportation vendors weekly shipping schedules.
Communicate with transportation vendors as needed.
Manage location addresses and accessorial needs throughout software/excel as needed.
Update consignee information in software as needed.
