Functional Medicine Physician (MD or DO)
Serv Recruitment Agency
Primary care physician job in Albuquerque, NM
Optimum and Southwest Women's Oncology are seeking a dedicated and driven
Functional Medicine Physician (MD or DO)
to join our high-performance team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Who We Are
Optimum and Southwest Women's Oncology are two sides of the same coin, precision performance and profound compassion.
At Optimum, we help people become the best versions of themselves, combining cutting-edge medical science, biohacking, aesthetics, and human potential into a single ecosystem of vitality.
At SWWO, we help women triumph over gynecologic illness through skill, courage, and heart. Together, we're building something rare: a culture where clinical excellence meets human flourishing - where our team thrives as much as our patients and clients do.
Who You Are
You are a physician who sees the body as an integrated system: metabolic, hormonal, neurologic, and musculoskeletal domains all informing one another.
You practice data-driven, precision medicine with the curiosity and rigor of a longevity scientist. You believe in data first, precision always and whole-person physiology above symptom management.
You are fluent in the intersection of functional medicine + performance medicine + biohacking, and you're hungry to push that field forward. You draw on evidence-based medicine while integrating cutting-edge diagnostic, metabolic, and recovery tools.
You listen deeply, think holistically, and design treatment plans that help patients extend their healthspan, reverse dysfunction, and build long-term metabolic resilience.
You thrive in an innovative, high-performance environment where medicine, data, and human optimization converge.
What You'll Do
Shape the Future of Optimum's Longevity, Vitality & Biohacking Programs
Collaborate with clinical leadership to design, refine, and evolve Optimum's cutting-edge healthspan, metabolic, hormone, and performance programs.
Contribute medical expertise to the creation of structured pathways (e.g., metabolic restoration, hormone optimization, strength advancement, recovery science).
Support the development of program protocols that integrate functional medicine, biohacking, and precision diagnostics.
Participate in innovation cycles to test, validate, and iterate emerging interventions, tools, or technologies before rollout to clients.
Lead Functional Medicine & Advanced Diagnostic Evaluations
Conduct comprehensive medical and functional intakes.
Conduct and interpret advanced performance and longevity biomarkers. Identify root-cause drivers and build highly personalized treatment plans designed for long-term healthspan extension and near-term performance improvement.
Integrate Medical Care with High-Level Biohacking Protocols
Prescribe and oversee targeted biohacking protocols using tools such as cryotherapy, red light therapy, PEMF, metabolic conditioning devices, AI-adaptive strength systems, etc.
Use technology-driven insights to refine treatment plans.
Collaborate closely with Biohacker Technicians and Coaches to execute precision-based programs.
Design High-Performance Longevity & Prevention Programs
Develop frameworks that integrate nutrition, pharmacologic tools (as appropriate), peptide therapy, hormone optimization, mitochondrial support, sleep architecture improvement, and advanced supplementation strategies.
Build measurement-based progression plans with quarterly performance reviews and biomarker dashboards.
Clinical Excellence Across the Optimum Practice
Maintain elite documentation and clinical clarity in the EMR.
Provide medical oversight for performance, metabolic, and hormonal protocols.
Participate in cross-functional case reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
Continuous Innovation, Research & Thought Leadership
Stay at the forefront of research surrounding longevity, metabolic disease reversal, mitochondrial health, exercise physiology, and stress adaptation.
Participate in Clinical Research initiatives.
Introduce new protocols that elevate Optimum toward new levels of excellence in preventive and performance medicine.
What You Bring
MD or DO with ability to practice in New Mexico.
Strong foundation in functional medicine, integrative medicine, performance medicine, longevity science, or metabolic health.
Deep understanding of physiology across cardiovascular, endocrine, metabolic, neurologic, and musculoskeletal systems.
Ability to translate complex, high-context concepts into clear, personalized patient plans.
Passion for long-term disease prevention, healthspan extension, and advanced recovery science.
Comfort integrating clinical protocols with biohacking technologies and continuous data streams.
Strong communication, leadership, and patient education skills.
Curiosity, precision, and a scientific mindset - someone who reads the research, challenges assumptions, and continually iterates.
The Optimum/SWWO Culture
We move fast, think long-term, and care deeply.
We don't reward activity; we reward impact.
We hire individuals who can self-manage, over-deliver, and elevate the people around them.
We believe kindness and accountability are not opposites - they're inseparable.
If you crave comfort, this isn't it.
If you crave mastery, meaning, and measurable impact - welcome home.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary, leadership bonuses, health & wellness coverage, and a 401(k) - but more importantly, the chance to build a legacy.
Note: This is an full-time in-office position at our AlbuquerqueNew Mexico office.
