Scheduling:
Your schedule will be 7 days on and 7 days off.
Swing shift: The hours are 11 am to 11 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
The hospital has a closed ICU with intensivist coverage 24/7. No procedures required.
As a Swing physician, you will perform an average of 10 admissions.
Our hospitalist team is part of the rapid response team with intensivist support. No code responsibility there is a code blue team.
Excellent subspecialty support
Our team meets frequently to relay key information from administration, discuss group operations, and for general feedback.
We use EPIC EMR and have access to our own internal informatics platform.

Duties include:
Evaluate and treat new patients and follow-up patients for Wound Care services.
Order testing and lab that is needed to evaluate the patient's wound and underlying conditions
Interpret all test results ordered
Communicate with the patients' PCPs and specialists as needed
Communicate with patients and family members with regard to the patients throughout their treatment plans
Provide referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
Perform advanced modalities and procedures as patient care requires. (debridement, grafts, etc.)

Responsibilities:
Provide full-spectrum family medicine care, including preventive care, chronic disease management, acute care, and women's health
Deliver obstetric care including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care
Offer comprehensive, patient- and family-centered care.
Ensure consistent, cost-effective care.
Provide inpatient obstetric and newborn care as part of a call pool with other physicians.
For surgical obstetric fellowship trained family physicians: perform scheduled Cesarean deliveries and bilateral tubal ligations

Maintain electronic medical records efficiently and maximize resources.

Qualifications:

Stabilization and transfer: Patients suffering traumatic injuries where immediate treatment and release is not medically indicated and when clinical level of care is not available at the VAMC, the contractor's physician (s) shall provide initial stabilization and readying of such patients for transport to an appropriate facility for care.
Shall provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all emergency department patients.

About the Role:

Job Summary
