Qualifications are BE or BC, hold an active state license (any state will suffice), current DEA, and updated BLS/ACLS. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Serve as the attending for inpatient and outpatient services on a 24-hour basis, perform evaluations involving complete history and physical examinations and the ordering of laboratory studies relevant to the patient's medical problem, and supervise housestaff and midlevel providers and assist with their evaluation and management of patients. The contract physician is required to make physician-to-physician contact calls with private and client physicians regarding referral of patients and to make telephone arrangements with appropriate physicians at tertiary care medical centers to arrange for referral of patients to other medical centers. Physicians will deliver a full range of inpatient and outpatient pulmonary and critical care services, meeting or exceeding the standards established by the American College of Chest Physicians and other nationally recognized guidelines. This is a full-time, on-site position that requires participation in clinic, operating suite, intensive care units, and on-call rotations. Work Schedule Clinic Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (minimum two physicians on-site daily). Operating Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (physicians must report at least 20 minutes before shift start).
