Job Duties:
Provide comprehensive health care to individuals and families in an outpatient setting for medical patients. Diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate patient responses in collaboration with a designated supervising physician. Required Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner
* Master's degree in nursing from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
* Minimum of two years RN experience or equivalent combination of RN and nurse practitioner experience combined (two years of RN experience equals one year of APRN experience) required.
* Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nebraska or current compact state required.
* Currently licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Practitioner (APRN) required.
* Family (FNP-BC) certification required.
Physician Assistant
* Master's degree from an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program OR bachelor's degree with ten years of current active Physician Assistant experience and approval from the Director of the Office of Advanced Practice OR if bachelor's degree with less than ten years current active experience sign a written agreement consenting to obtain a Master's degree from an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program within three years from date of transfer or hire and approval from the Director of the Office of Advanced Practice required.
* Ability to maintain Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours to meet State of Nebraska and NCCPA Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) [Or if new graduate, eligible for certification and certification completed prior to beginning to provide care] required.
* Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Nebraska (or eligible for license prior to beginning to provide care) required.

Job Duties: APP Surgical Care - Acute Care Surgery
Provide comprehensive care to patients with acute surgical and non-surgical conditions including traumatic injuries, critical illness, and emergent/acute surgical conditions in the ICU, Emergency Department, Inpatient, Operating room and outpatient settings. Accurately diagnose and treat critically ill patients who have traumatic injuries, surgical diseases, and have undergone surgeries such as but not limited to thoracic, abdominal, cardiac, vascular, orthopedic, neurosurgical procedures. Daily management of patients requiring vasopressor support, initiate treatment and manage care for patients requiring ventilatory support. Your Role:
Provide direct patient care to clinic patients - examine, diagnose, and prescribe appropriate treatment plans
Maintain health records for all patients through the use of electronic health records
Provide continuity of care to patients, and serve in rotation for both after-hour care coverage and Quick Care coverage as appropriate
Participate in the review, development, and training of patient care policies, procedures, protocols, and standing orders
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve health outcomes
Provide professional perspective and direction in the development of the community health care plan
What We Are Looking For:
Graduate of an accredited school of medicine with an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of Nebraska
Current DEA license required
Knowledge of public health principles and practices
Demonstrated professional commitment to providing services to medically under-served individuals in a public health setting
Ability to foster strong patient-provider relationships
Current certificate in BLS and ACLS
Administrative experience as a physician in implementing community health programs preferred

Collaboration with other Boys Town National Research Hospital providers and specialties, community resources, and schools.
Prescribes and administers treatments, therapies, medications, and other specialized medical care.

Participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary evaluation and remediation team, which may include professionals from non-medical fields.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Apply research expertise as demonstrated by records or sustained work published in medical journals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Doctor of Medicine Degree from an accredited medical school required.
Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency in pediatrics required.
Board certified or eligible leading to certification in Developmental- Behavioral pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics or the American Osteopathic Board of Pediatrics required.
Possess or be able to attain medical licensure in the State of Nebraska required.
Ability to maintain certification status or participate in maintenance of certification processes as necessary required.
