The team seeks to provide patient and family centered care to improve the quality of life of patients navigating serious illness by managing complex symptom needs, coordinating care and exploring goals of care across a variety of settings. The physician must be BC/BE in Palliative and Hospice medicine and will join a mature team to provide both inpatient and outpatient care for patients and families. The inpatient consult service provides care to a wide range of patients including those in the Burn unit, medical and surgical ICUs as well as medical/surgical wards. Additionally, the physician will provide care on an outpatient basis through multiple co-management clinics with Oncology as well as primary Palliative Care clinics. After hours and weekend call coverage will be shared amongst all providers. The Palliative Care physician will supervise and train a wide range of learners including medical students, residents, fellows and other interdisciplinary learners in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
