Performs monthly review of each patient's medication profile, in conjunction with the attending psychiatrist. Performs a medical exam on each patient, documents findings accordingly in the progress notes, reviews and updates the Medical Treatment plan at that time. Provides annual physical and neurological examinations and summary of previous year's medical illnesses and treatment for all patients in designated areas within 30 days of the anniversary of their admission date and prior to their annual ICTP. Renders medical treatment to all patients in designated areas and makes rounds on a daily basis, ordering labs, x-rays and other diagnostic studies and consultations as necessary. Reviews results of studies, reports, consultations and follow-up care where indicated. Attends assigned medical staff and hospital committee meetings as a voting member and participates in committee work as assigned. Is available to attend all medical and psychiatric emergencies during the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Participates in noon (1200-1300) coverage schedule on a rotating basis. Participates in the on-campus evening, weekend, and holiday on-call responsibility as needed. For medical emergencies, announces the medical emergency and initiates appropriate medical actions/interventions.
