We are seeking a skilled and versatile Maintenance Technician 1 to join our client's team in Troy, MI. In this role, you will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and support facility operations to ensure optimal performance and safety. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, fabrication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Perform duties safely using approved safety equipment and procedures. Troubleshoot Trystar equipment with minimal supervision; contact manufacturers for technical support as needed. Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) regularly and as required. Update maintenance management software by entering assets, work orders, and generating PM/work order status reports. Apply general fabrication skills, including welding (MIG & TIG), plasma cutting, torch cutting, and band saw cutting. Read facility blueprints for equipment and production line layout. Apply mechanical knowledge and basic electrical meter skills for troubleshooting. Disassemble and diagnose mechanical failures; perform necessary repairs. Assist with machinery installations and maintain most equipment independently. Apply plumbing skills for facility maintenance (e.g., sinks, drain lines, toilets). Apply HVAC skills for equipment and facility maintenance (e.g., heaters, furnaces, AC systems, exhaust fans). Assist outside contractors with machinery repairs and installations.
