**Job Description**
The BusinessAnalyst (BA) Senior will execute on medium projects as a liaison among business operations, technology groups, clients, business partners, vendors, and project/program team to understand, analyze, and facilitate business needs, requirements, and impacts of business changes as a result of strategic initiatives, operational changes, compliance requirements, client needs, and technology or operational improvements. Additionally, this role will participate with leadership and/or the Center of Excellence to define and implement the best practice activities for Business Analysis.
**Responsibilities**
+ Execute independently on medium sized projects or as part of a team of BAs on large sized or complex projects working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure superior customer and client experience
+ Define and validate business needs with project team
+ Participate in stakeholder analysis and identify subject matter experts needed for work effort
+ Assess capability gaps, determine solution options and approach, and define solution scope
+ Plan overall business analysis approach and activities for projects including user acceptance testing
+ Prepare for, conduct, and document elicitation sessions
+ Manage requirements traceability to solution scope, objectives, system requirements, and testing

**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in business, IT, or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
+ 5 years of work experience in business analysis

The full salary grade for this position is $88,800 - $152,300. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $88,800 - $133,245. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. The Sr. BusinessAnalyst is a member of a scrum team that is responsible for breaking features into stories after the Product Owners have broken the Epics down into features that technology teams can execute on. Collaborates with the Product Development Specialist regarding decisions, requirements and ramifications to Selective proprietary forms.
Maintains ownership of the profit & loss for assigned line of business. Provides analysis for state and countrywide rate reviews as well as to aid regional partners in region and state level efforts at profitability improvement and profitable production by providing recommendations and support to drive the activity required.
Supports Product Development Specialists efforts to maintain inventory and accountability for governance of existing rates, rules and forms. Includes oversight of delay/non-adopt ISO, AAIS, and independent property rating bureau circulars.
Manages line of business assigned for all corporate governance and compliance issues.
Receives and handles underwriting referrals from the field and/or corporate underwriting, utilizing underwriting expertise to advise the most appropriate solution or course of action in a timely manner. Includes supporting the Product Development Specialist's, analysis of existing manuscript endorsements, determination of acceptability based on clarity, accuracy, and compliance with each state's regulations, development of alternative solutions using filed forms, or provide alternative language that is compliant, clear, and concise.
Actively participates in supporting predictive model efforts relative to given line of business.

Research, analyze, collect data, develop reports, present findings and recommendations on product issues and assist Product leaders with coordinating necessary product, system or workflow updates
Research forms, coverage, workflow or rating questions and make recommendations for product changes based on analysis
Participate in system updates as needed to include working with IT partners to develop requirements, complete pre and post implementation user testing, and work with IT to resolve defects
Develop and present product rules, policyholder notices, and coverage forms to Product leaders, and publish necessary updates to company insurance documentation sites. Assist in maintenance of Forms Matrix
Prepare, review, and deliver appropriate communications and training documentation for product users
Create and maintain rate and rule manuals as part of state product strategies or state compliance and to support filings with state insurance departments
Research and track competitor, industry and market data for assigned states/product lines. Make suggestions for appropriate policy, coverage, rating or rule changes based on analysis
Complete assigned product filings to facilitate timely approval of product changes and develop/submit responses to filing objections
Prepare and submit state regulatory reports as assigned
Research statutory changes and present findings to Product leaders as needed
Maintain product folders and information so that information is current and well-organized
Track competitor filings by state and produce weekly report as scheduled
Review and recommend procedure and/or workflow changes by developing updates and documenting recommendations. Implement changes as requested
Independently manage an assigned product line to include developing strategic plans, and handling ongoing product maintenance, as well as leading associated system projects and required filings
Participate in training and/or mentoring Product Analysts and new team members

Education: Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.); or related experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience.
Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of Property & Casualty insurance product experience, personal lines highly preferred. Experience with data analytics and data mining preferred.
Knowledge & Skills:
Understanding of personal lines insurance concepts, policy forms, coverage interpretation & policy layout, and rating methodology
Strong ability to read, analyze and interpret insurance regulations, filing documentation, rate and rule manuals, and policy forms
Working knowledge of policy admin systems, project management, requirements documentation and user acceptance testing
Experience with filings tools such as SERFF & OIR, and state filings procedures and practices
