PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is looking for an Alcohol and SubstanceAbuseCounselor to work in the medical department at the Bucks County Department of Corrections in Doylestown, PA.
This is a Full-Time position, Monday - Friday, during normal business hours 8:00am - 4:30pm.
Candidate MUST be certified as an Alcohol and SubstanceAbuseCounselor (CADC OR CAADC) and/or Licensed Clinician (LSW/LCSW or LPC)
Job Responsibilities:
The D&A Counselor will primarily be responsible for the clinical monitoring, coordinating and implementing of the MAT in accordance with NCCHC/ACA Standards and PCM policies and procedures. In addition, the D&A Counselor will also serve as one of the MAT liaisons between the medical unit and facility staff.
Other responsibilities will include:
Engages inmates/patients in therapeutic interventions with the goal of addressing substanceabuse related concerns.
Actively assist with the detection and prevention of inmate/patient suicide.
Assesses and documents treatment responses of inmates/patients.
Facilitates group and individual sessions with inmates/patients in the MAT
Assists with discharge planning for inmates/patients on the MAT caseload or collaborates with inmate services staff regarding discharge planning (where applicable)
Facilitates/participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and/or case consultations with staff across disciplines.
Is a member of the Quality Assurance Committee and sub-committees as Assists in the establishment of Quality Assurance standards and audit criteria.
Serves as a member of various committees within the medical unit and facility as necessary.
Develops and conducts in-service education programs according to annual in- service calendar
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Submit copy of professional license and other credentialing information to the corporate office.
Any/all other duties and responsibilities as assigned and delegated.

Salaries are negotiable and commensurate based on experience. Annual Salary range is $60,000.00 - $70,000.00

Requirements
Must be certified as an Alcohol and SubstanceAbuseCounselor (CADC OR CAADC) and/or Licensed Clinician (LMSW/LCSW or LGPC/LCPC)
Bachelor's Degree / Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other related Human Services degree with a concentration in mental health course work.
Minimum one (1) year clinical experience preferred.

Ability to gain trust of patients and build a working relationship

Outposted Therapeutic Housing Units Program (OTxHU)
Since 2016, Correctional Health Services (CHS) has been the direct provider of health care in the New York City jails. Deeply committed to human dignity and patient rights, CHS is part of the NYC Health + Hospitals system and is a key partner in the City's efforts to reform the criminal-legal system. Our in-jail clinical services include medical, nursing, and mental health care; pharmacy services; substance-use treatment; social work; dental and vision care; discharge planning; and reentry support.
Given the high visibility of this initiative, we are seeking the highest caliber health care professionals in key clinical services to staff our Outposted Therapeutic Housing Units (OTxHU). To be located in three NYC Health + Hospital acute care facilities, the OTxHU is a pioneering approach to safely increasing access to high quality clinical care for patients in custody who have complicated health conditions. OTxHUs will bridge the gap in the continuum between care provided in the jails and inpatient hospitalization, with admission to and discharge from the OTxHU in accordance with a patient's clinical needs. CHS will be the primary health care providers on these units and the NYC Department of Correction will provide security and custody management.
The OTxHU at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in Manhattan will be the first of this unique, groundbreaking project to open with a planned completion date as early as the end of 2024. (Position Description)
Under general supervision, with very broad latitude for independent judgment and decision making, performs highly difficult and responsible professional and supervisory work in the mental health discipline. In addition to performing the duties of Assignment Levels I and II at a higher level, also performs the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In collaboration with mental health leadership, coordinates and implements counseling programs for an assigned area of a health care setting. Monitors and guides mental health counselors assigned at Levels I and II in the establishment and provision of these programs.
Provides supervision for mental health counselors assigned at Level I, practicing under a limited permit.
Assigns appropriate supervisory responsibilities to mental health counselors assigned at Level II.
Assesses individual performance competencies for mental health counselors assigned to Levels I and II, and arranges staff development opportunities based on assessment outcomes.
. Facilitates the participation of consumers of mental health services within assigned area.
Acts as a liaison between the health care setting and community agencies or programs.
Qualification Requirements: (Example below)
Assignment Level III
Valid license and current registration to practice as a Mental Health Counselor issued by the NYSED; and three (3) additional years of post-licensure experience.

Summary
Plans, develops, and provides Child Life programming to meet the psychological, emotional, and developmental needs of the pediatric patients and their families.
Job Duties
Coordinates, schedules, and supervises all special events for the inpatient pediatric areas.
Collaborates with marketing and public affairs to facilitate photography and filming activities, radio, television interviews, and host corporate donors.
Develops a strategic plan to reduce the fear and anxiety a child experiences with the healthcare environment.
Prepares patients and families for procedures, disease processes, and the healthcare environment using therapeutic play activities as treatment tools.
Evaluates child's developmental stage, ability to understand and cope with the health care environment, temperament, and emotional state.
Identifies patient and family coping strategies and applies strategies to assist in coping with the stress of hospitalization, illness, death, and/or loss.
Implements specialized services to best meet the individual child's needs.
Provides consultation to other health care workers regarding developmental and behavioral issues which impact patient care.
Participates in record-keeping of vital statistics for the Child Life Department demonstrating which Child Life services have been provided to patients.

The overall responsibility of the Addictions Counselor is to provide and assure continuity of services to chemically dependent adults patients and assure continuity of care in appropriate assessment, treatment planning, and referral.
Minimum Requirements:
Must have minimum of Alcohol and Drug Trainee Status or one of the following certification or license with the State of Maryland: Licensed Graduate Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LGADC), Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW), Certified Associate Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD) or Certified Supervised Counselor-Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD).

Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associate's in a Human Services related field
Minimum of CASAC-T issued by OASAS
Successful completion of all requested background checks
Addiction specific training
Strong interpersonal, communication, time management and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office software and in maintenance of electronic records/charts
Valid NYS driver's license, driving record that is acceptable to BHSN's insurance carrier, and reliable transportation for required local travel
CPR certification within 6 months of employment
