Mohs micrographic surgery is a specialized, tissue-sparing surgical technique used in the treatment of select cutaneous malignancies, particularly tumors with a high risk of recurrence or those located in anatomically or cosmetically sensitive areas (e.g., face, ears, neck). The procedure involves the staged excision of thin layers of tissue, with each layer processed via immediate histopathologic evaluation. This process is repeated until clear margins are achieved. Mohs surgery offers the highest cure rates for basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma and is also indicated for certain melanoma subtypes.
The Ambulatory II Dermatology Surgery (Mohs) Registered Nurse supports dermatologic surgeons throughout the Mohs micrographic surgery process, ensuring safe, precise, and patient-centered care.

Summary:
+ The Medical Gas Equipment Technician is responsible for all medical gas systems and related equipment throughout PMPH locations including Main Hospitals and off-site facilities (Monroe) the hospital. **The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a FT EEG Tech for the Night Shift! The schedule will be as follows: 7:30pm-8am 3 (nights/week) with expected rotating Saturday coverage. This position will also require either a Sunday or a Friday (not both) as part of the regular schedule, in addition to the rotating Saturday. Under a physician's direction, the technologist performs adult/neonatal EEG studies. The technologist is responsible for: explaining the test procedure to the patient, applying all recording, monitoring and stimulating electrodes, recognizing and eliminating artifact, calibrating all equipment used and troubleshooting and correcting malfunctions, selecting appropriate amplifier settings and obtaining quality data. The technologist must provide technical descriptions of EEG studies.
**Responsibilities:**
- Knowledge of neuro-anatomy and physiology, basic electronics, and electrical safety, general EEG instrumentation pattern, recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions that influence the EEG. - Verifies patient, physician's orders and gathers appropriate information form chart and/or interviews the patient/caregiver to provide accurate history. - Check all equipment for proper function, inventory, operation, and cleanliness including corrections of malfunctions. - Records EEG according to standards of the laboratory including the 10-20 system; provides initial interpretation of results and communicates urgent findings immediately with Epilepsy physicians. - Reviews EEG files and saves appropriate sections for physician review which may include clipping and pruning for long term monitoring (LTM). - Educates ICU nurses and other hospital personnel regarding basic equipment functioning and electrode removal techniques. - Responsible for scheduling appointments for patient testing and maintaining communication across the inpatient units. - Responsible for billing accuracy. - Participates in teaching conferences and technical meetings. Maintains CEUs/Credentials. - Responsible for adhering to State & Federal regulations and successful compliance of these regulatory agencies.

**Summary:**
+ The Lead Phlebotomist Laboratory Assistant performs phlebotomy duties and also acts as the area lead under the direction of the laboratory supervisor or manager. The Lead is responsible for the monitoring and coordinating the workflow of the phlebotomy section of the inpatient and/or outpatient laboratories assigned by redirecting personnel resources to ensure the smooth care of patients. The incumbent will be responsible for ordering and maintain supplies and equipment, orienting/training staff, and maintaining policies, procedures, and quality performance practices. The Lead assists internal and external customers with information, reports, and service. (3400 Spruce Street - HUP Inpatient Phlebotomy)
+ **Shift:** Every Friday & Sat night from 9:00pm - 9:30am with holiday on call rotations.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Assists in overall daily operations of the section, which includes scheduling, ordering, stocking and managing supplies
+ Organizes and assigns workload for AM/PM collection/monitors inpatient and outpatient areas
+ Monitors turnaround time of AM/PM collection process and recommends enhancements
+ Receives feedback from Manager/Supervisors regarding quality of specimens collected
+ Reports appropriate feedback to Manager/Supervisors, and relays instructions to phlebotomists as required to enhance the quality of specimens
+ Receives and resolves problems and complaints associated with inpatient/outpatient blood draws and reports to Manager/Supervisor.
+ Reviews and investigates non-conformities with service goals
+ Collaborates with staff to identify and eliminate barriers to meeting service commitments as directed by section Manager/Supervisor
+ Assists the Manager/Supervisor in recruiting, hiring, evaluating, and performance reviews of staff
+ Evaluates workflow and initiates changes to keep patient wait time to a minimum and expedite process
+ Provides administrative support to Supervisor.
+ Correctly identifies the stage of growth of development of patients and significant others
+ Utilizes knowledge of growth and development when communicating to various age groups
+ Explains appropriate information according to age and developmental level of patients and visitors
+ Identifies communication barriers and intervenes appropriately
+ Recognizes cultural differences and the need to adjust communications styles and behaviors to meet the needs of the patient (e.g. direct eye contact, touching with transferring)
+ Listens to patient's queries, comments and/or concerns and provides appropriate information and responses
+ Introduces self when interacting with patients, families, visitors or other employees.
+ Entry of (release of) patient demographics, test orders, billing information into a variety of computer systems (EMR/LIS)
+ Follows established SOP and age-specific techniques for the collection of biological specimens for analysis and evaluates and solves problems related to that process
+ Correctly identifies outpatients and inpatients according to approved protocols with 100% accuracy
+ Performs accurate venipuncture and micro (capillary) techniques in sample collection
+ May perform specialized collection to include breath alcohol testing, hair collection, and EKGs.
+ Properly labels specimens with 100% accuracy
+ Draws all timed/scheduled samples in a timely manner
+ Observes emotional and physical state of patient for any adverse reactions to phlebotomy
+ Performs assigned patient-sample processing activities.

+ Operates the pneumatic tube system properly and observes all Infection Control policies while handling specimens

+ Researches phone inquiries regarding specimen collection or test results by referencing available manuals and records, and calls caller back promptly
+ Understands collection requirements for special or referral testing, prepares specimens, ensures integrity and correctness of sample, and arranges for dispatch and pick-up of specimens
+ Keeps current with laboratory minutes and documented changes.
+ Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies, and takes appropriate action prior to supplies running out
+ Assists with the instruction of procedures and techniques to other employees and students
+ Performs daily temperature checks on rooms, refrigerators, freezers, incubators and preventive maintenance on centrifuges as needed
+ Reports technical issues to the appropriate Manager/Supervisor.
+ Projects an image of professionalism in appearance and conduct at all times
+ Works well with peers and those in authority
+ Promotes patient and staff relations and displays pride in work
+ Complies with Hospital, Laboratory, Safety, and HIPAA regulations
+ Notifies Supervisor or Safety Officer of hazards when found
+ Completes annual mandatories on or before the due date
+ Responsible for maintaining adequate staffing on all three shifts, weekends and holidays.
**Credentials:**
+ Certification as a PBT or MLA by a minimum knowledge-based exam such as the Board of Certification PBT(ASCP) or MLA(ASCP) is required.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
+ H.S. Diploma/GED and 2+ years' Experience as a Phlebotomist. (Required)
+ Phlebotomy training and experience in an outpatient or hospital setting, prior experience in hospital laboratory receiving area, prior experience with the Laboratory Information System and prior experience with Microsoft Office.

**Summary:**
+ **Primary duty is to transport patients throughout the medical complex in a safe, courteous, and timely manner. When appropriate and requested by clinical personnel the Telemetry Transporter will monitor the patient's vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, lung sounds, VAD parameters, pulse oximetry, and ECG tracings via appropriate monitor. In addition, the Telemetry Transporter will continuously assess the patient's overall condition and immediately notify the patient's nurse if any adverse conditions are detected or observed. When necessary, Telemetry Transporter Initiate Rapid Response and Code Calls for patients in declining status. Responds to assigned clinical emergencies and partakes in the hospital emergency preparedness plan for internal and external emergency management. Assists with patient movement when transferring patients from bed to wheelchair or stretcher. Carry out minor patient care duties while the patient is in transit. Transports deceased patients to the hospital morgue. Updates appropriate transport tracking system through use of assigned cell phone to maintain accurate location and times associated with patient transports.**
**Responsibilities:**
+ **Ensures all requirements are met in order to maintain active EMT and CPR certification.**
+ **All transport assignments should be responded to in a safe and timely manner. Throughout the medical center, transporter maintains a constant focus on the safety and well-being of any patient in their care. Proper techniques and equipment should be utilized to facilitate safe, efficient and timely movement of patients.**
+ **Follows hospital established protocols/policies and procedures when verifying patient identity. Ensures "Ticket to Ride" is updated accordingly, always including date, time and signature of Transporter and RN. Receives and relays pertinent patient information to Nursing/Provider staff at the start and completion of every transport and at every appropriate hand-off point; completing all required documentation. Maintains patient's chart during transport and ensures confidentiality of patient information at all times.**
+ **Utilizes "Safe Patient Handling" techniques when transferring patients to wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, and procedure tables. Assists hospital staff with the movement of patients as needed.**
+ **Secures patient and any appropriate equipment prior to lifting, moving or transporting. When required assures adequate oxygen tank, IVs, drainage tubes, etc. are available prior to start of transport and upon arrival to destination. Connects patient to appropriate monitoring devices prior to and upon completion of every telemetry transport.**
+ **Immediately alerts care providers, as well as the Dispatcher, Shift Supervisor/Manager/Director to any signs of patient distress, equipment malfunction, and unsafe conditions**
+ **Clocks in and out of E*Star on time and promptly logs into appropriate transport tracking system within the department designated timeframe of scheduled shift time. When necessary advises dispatcher of availability in a timely manner. Acknowledges receipt of assignment, updates whereabouts immediately upon arrival and exit from location or destination, and acknowledges completion of assignments in real time.**

Position Description:
Penn Medicine Princeton Health is looking for a per diem Physician Assistant to join their busy Surgery Department.
This position is primarily operating room based. The Physician Assistant performs as a first assistant to surgeons during operative procedures in the inpatient and outpatient care settings at Princeton Health. Multispecialty surgeries included: Orthopedics, Plastic surgery, Robotic surgery, Gynecologic surgery, ENT and C-sections.
The Physician Assistant demonstrates competency in the performance of operative and procedural skills. Applies principles of asepsis and infection control. Provides appropriate positioning, prepping and draping of the patient. Applies knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, and operative technique relative to the surgical procedure. Provides hemostasis, retraction and anatomical exposure. Performs wound closure and applies surgical dressings, casts and immobilizing devices.
The Physician Assistant works independently and collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals to support a comprehensive plan of care. Communicates effectively with physicians, team members, nursing and ancillary staff. Participates in daily rounds in the inpatient setting. Provides appropriate pre-operative and post-operative care. Documents appropriate information into the medical record, orders diagnostic tests and prescribes medications to support a comprehensive plan of care. Develops and maintains specialty skill sets as required (i.e., Robotics). Maintains certifications as required. Demonstrates commitment to professional growth by participation in continuing medical education activities.
Hours: Per Diem. Dayshift, 7:00am-3:30pm. No weekends or on-call.
Minimum Requirements:
Current licensure as a Physician Assistant.
National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistant.
Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant training program.
Master of Arts or Science required.
Minimum 1-2 years of OR experience as a Physician Assistant is required.
