We are committed to providing the highest level of obstetric care, prenatal consultations and ultrasound services, medical education and training, and advancing the care of women during pregnancy through clinical and translational research. Specialized programs include Prematurity Prevention, Reproductive Genetics, Cardiac Disease in Pregnancy and Perinatal Diabetes. The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague is an RN that practices as a full partner on the health care team and consistently demonstrates safe practice within the organizational professional practice model. The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague possesses the knowledge, skills, and the attitude to effectively meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Ambulatory Nurse II position description addendum. The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague exhibits UPHS organizational behavioral competencies which reflect its mission and are embedded in the professional practice competency domains. The Ambulatory Nurse II Colleague independently provides patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepts accountability for the nursing care of assigned patients. Assigned patients may range in age from infancy to the elderly. Summary: The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health is looking to add an experienced full time Certified Nurse Midwife to our Family Medicine Obstetrics (FMOB) team. The additional CNM position would add a fourth Midwife to our existing team and allow the department to expand midwifery services across our mission areas. Our CNM's work collaboratively with our FMOB Faculty covering our L&D service at HUP AND providing prenatal care and women's health services in partnership with several community health centers across the city. This promotes our mission of caring for historically underserved populations in settings they can access while providing high quality care for both birthing parent and child. Interested candidates should have a strong interest in teaching residents and students at HUP L&D and in the community. All midwives function under the guidelines designated by Penn Medicine medical staff guidelines and are credentialed through that body. The CNM is held accountable through a formal job description, through delineations of privileges and through their agreement with their collaborating physicians who have initiated a Collaborative Practice Agreement. All clinical work hours and associated requirements will be defined and managed under the direction of the collaborating physician/division designee, and within Human Resource guideline.The primary role is to function as a full-scope Midwife providing independent and/or collaborative care within the department in accordance with its mission. The care will extend to uncomplicated gynecological and obstetric patients, as well as obstetrical patients and their newborns during the antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum periods in the hospital and or outpatient setting. The Midwife will also participate in teaching medical and midwifery students and junior residents the management of normal labor and delivery, and provide feedback regarding their performance. The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is looking for a Certified Nurse Midwife or Nurse Practitioner for a day & night shift in the Perinatal Evaluation ****************** role requires 1 shift per week Penn Medicine is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife or Nurse Practitioner who is dedicated to diversity, population health, and care of our patients in both the Perinatal Evaluation Center (which is our emergency room for pregnant and postpartum patients). Experience with resident training and education is a plus. We are a multidiscipline group of OB/GYN, Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians, Neonatologists, Midwives, and Residents coming together to optimize patient care. The PEC serves as the OB triage unit, HUP's ED for pregnant women greater than 16 weeks gestation. It houses 10 triage beds, and an ultrasound evaluation area and is adjacent to HUPs Labor and Delivery suite. The PEC is one of the initial contact areas for patients with obstetric related concerns. It is staffed with nurses, both NPs, CNMs and RNs who work together to triage and care for each patient, collaborating with the physicians to develop an individual plan of care. While the PEC and Labor and Delivery are distinct units, we function as one cohesive unit that works together to insure quality care to our patients.
