Principal architect job description

The Customer Outcomes Principal Platform Architect is an advisory role, responsible for helping our customers establish a strong technical foundation in the ServiceNow Platform and define related solutions that drive business outcomes. This entails establishing and supporting leading practices around instance strategy, technical governance, core data, integrations and the overall health of the platform. This is a highly consultative role that does not perform configuration on the platform, and instead guides both partner and customer resources to deliver utilizing leading practices. This role interfaces with the customer across executive, platform owner, enterprise architects and development teams during the selling, structuring, implementation, and on-going maintenance of solutions.

An ideal candidate will have a achieved a senior level position as an enterprise architect and have a successful track record in management consulting, (professional services firms or cloud software company), focused on technology strategy, governance, data and solution design. The candidate will have demonstrated the ability to become a trusted advisor to senior executives and facilitate customer success from strategic planning functions including business value identification, road mapping, as well as advising and defining successful execution strategies including governance frameworks and managing large enterprise programs.
What you get to do in this role:

Develop strong relationships with c-suite and business leaders to understand their vision and how ServiceNow plays in their digital transformation journey.

Translate business objectives to outcomes into a customer roadmap.

Interact with customer's Architecture team to:

Analyze and translate business information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint that outlines solutions to achieve complex business objectives

Engage with customer enterprise and solution architects to position ServiceNow as the integrated digital transformation platform.

Establish and continually advise on technical governance domains and continual process improvement

Drive solid platform health by reviewing and guiding the remediation of configurations and customizations that do not align to ServiceNow leading practices

Work with clients and ServiceNow teams to establish technical governance to enable successful go-lives, end-user adoption and on-going support

Advocate/champion ServiceNow's advisory services leading practices and industry use cases with clients

Contribute thought leadership (methodology and white papers) on how advisory and co-delivery can optimize customer outcomes

Guide a customer on strategic planning to achieve desired business outcomes.

Identify solutions across the platform that drive towards the customers goals.

Collaborate with broader ServiceNow team structures including sales, pre-sales consulting, expert services, and support.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, A candidate must have the following experience:
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines Fluency in architecture and design across multiple systems using techniques like Domain Driven Design. 10+ years application development experience 2 - 5 years of building public cloud solutions Experience in building application framework and/or platform development experience Experience Defining solution architecture and leading implementation of big data applications and/or micro services architecture Hands-on experience in design and implementation of cloud-native applications Large Scale Agile practice experience (for example: SAFe, LeSS, etc...)


Additionally a candidate should demonstrated competency in some of the skills below:

What success looks like in this role:

VDI Principal Architect

The VDI Principal Architect role focuses on the design, creation, lifecycle, a readiness of Solutions in their area. The role will work closely with the Solution Managers who manage how Unisys takes our offerings to the market. A VDI Principal Architect will create reference architecture of how the Unisys Solution will integrated into our clients environment. A deep understanding of how these solutions will be secured and privacy is maintained is also required.

Technology Leadership A solution driver who has a passion for demonstrating continuous learning by proactively expanding technical depth in products, solutions, and services, particularly in the Microsoft ,Citrix, and VMware spaces. Operates with the perspective and insight that business needs, not just technology, establish the limits on what can be achieved. Designs technical solutions, focused in the Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop/Citrix / Vmware Horizon technologies. Designing Solutions with security and privacy at the core. Using standard approaches, considering the customer's infrastructure limitations and opportunities; analyzes, interprets, and presents assessment results. Determines and defines services that complement and/or round out proposed hardware and software engagements, estimates required engineer effort. Uses team tools, templates, resources, and processes for maximum efficiency, productivity, consistency, and high-quality execution. Provides feedback to technology leaders where opportunities exist to improve offerings, design, and delivery execution. Assists new team members by answering questions and sharing expertise on the tools of the job. Assists new hires by answering questions and sharing information. Supporting Pre-Sales TeamsHaving detailed technical discussions with existing and potential clients Follows up on implemented solutions and identifies new opportunities that complement the work that was completed.
