Chemours is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Fixed Equipment to join our growing Thermal & Specialized Solutions Business team. The position will be available at the Chemours Corpus Christi Plant located in Ingleside, TX and report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager.
This role will serve as a Plant Support Engineer for one or more areas of the assets at this facility. The individual will provide overall Mechanical Engineering guidance and support for the Operations, Maintenance, and Technology Teams for their area(s). This role will entail involvement in day-to-day troubleshooting in the plant, as well as support for improvement programs in the areas of Safety (PSM), Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), reliability, cost, and new capital installations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role will include, but are not limited to the following:
Provide mechanical expertise for troubleshooting, maintaining, and modifying operating equipment and facilities.
Provide technical troubleshooting and training for the operating and maintenance teams.
Provide Mechanical expertise for project work to ensure its compliance with specifications, engineering standards and quality assurance.
Lead PSM criticality assessment process to ensure adequate rationale is provided to develop and manage the MIQA effort, including critical spare parts, SAP data, inspection plans and frequencies, and maintenance procedures.
Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and uptime data to recommend and justify improvements to obtain the lowest life cycle cost on different classes of equipment.
Leads and participates in Safety, Reliability and Quality Investigations.
Participate in maintenance and reliability networks and share best practices, successes, and failures.
Perform failure mode and effect analyses to develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans to include equipment checks and predictive preventative maintenance (PPM) performed by operators and mechanics.
Provides support for both cost and capital projects, including scope development, justification, and coordinating installation of new/modified facilities.
Maintain personal level of technical expertise in key technologies via training, seminars, and professional organizations.
Provide shift/weekend coverage for start-ups, tests, maintenance turnarounds, or other non-routine needs.
Travel requirements are less than 15%.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The following is
required
for this role:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
2+ years of related industrial / manufacturing work experience in fixed equipment (will consider up to 1 year of degree relevant intern / co-op experience).
Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering fixed equipment principles (piping, pressure vessels, valves, and welding).
Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems - making data-based decisions.
Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong customer focus and ability to conceptualize customer needs based on customer input. Proven ability to effectively communicate through all levels of an organization.
High degree of initiative and flexibility to move projects forward safely and in a timely manner.
Proven ability to prioritize and manage short duration deadlines, emergency situations, and multiple priorities
Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.
The following skill sets are

for this role:
3+ years of experience in related manufacturing industry or Military Equivalent Experience.
Strong background in the following:
Maintenance and reliability best practices including the work management process and basic materials science including material selection and properties.
Knowledge in related fields such as non-destructive testing, welding, fabrication, working with third party fabricators.
Knowledge of any of the following: ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (Section 8), ASME Piping Codes (B.31) and API Codes (preference for API 510, API 570), welding and fabrication processes and repair procedures.
Root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), data analysis techniques and statistical interpretation skills, failure analysis including preservation of evidence techniques, engineering design standards and their application, Cost/Capital analysis and justification.
Strong Process Safety Management (PSM) or experience in a OSHA high hazard process area.

Indorama Intermediate Chemicals is currently looking for a dynamic individual to work as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at our Clear Lake, TX location. The senior mechanical engineer will perform engineering duties in planning and designing tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of such equipment as centralized heat, gas, water, and steam systems.
**What will be expected from you?**
+ Ensure that all activities, for which he/she is responsible, are carried out in conformance with laws and regulations, contractual requirements, and the project management manual.
+ In particular health and safety of personnel, natural and working environment and equipment shall be taken care of.
+ Package ownership and review responsible for heat exchangers, pressure vessels, boilers, freshwater generators, and gas compressors (Centrifugal and Reciprocating).
+ Comment the mechanical design, including arrangement of operability, functionality, accessibility, and maintainability to meet requirements in laws, regulations, class, flag, and contract.
+ Monitor and review contractor's mechanical activities and deliverables during engineering, fabrication, integration, testing to ensure compliance with all regulatory and contract requirements.
+ Review comments from certifying authority on design of the mechanical systems/equipment and assist in resolving issues.
+ Participate in HAZID's and HAZOP's.
+ Comments on projects/modification mechanical design.
+ Review and comment plans for factory acceptance tests (FAT) for mechanical equipment and participate in such tests for critical equipment. Verify satisfactory results of FAT.
+ Prepare purchase request being very conversant with equipment and material specifications.
+ Request equipment, materials and consumables as required within limits of authority.
+ Propose and implement cost effective solutions in design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
+ Identify and qualify equipment vendors.
+ Plan, coordinate and supervise revamp and maintenance activities.
+ Participate in design of material codification system.
+ Any and all other duties deemed necessary to meet the needs of the business.
**What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?**
+ BS in Mechanical Engineering AND 10 years of experience working in chemical industries required.
+ 10 years of plant experience as a mechanical engineer.
+ Strong experience in a similar role working in an ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol plant is preferred.
+ Maintenance, reliability, and turnaround experience is a required.
+ Should be proficient with Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs.
+ Strong computer skills, including process simulation tools such as Aspen.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

Kent is looking for a Project Engineer to be based in our Corpus Christi, TX office and support regional project site(s).
The Project Engineer is responsible for delivering all assigned engineering services as agreed, to ensure they are being executed per the contract, established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), regulatory and legal requirements, and responsible for communicating regularly with the client counterparts to develop a relationship that leads to follow-on work.
To be responsible in coordinating the production of engineering deliverables and provides progress reporting for a project in accordance with the project plan. Supports the management of the interfaces between engineering offices, engineering disciplines, project controls, procurement and third-party contractors or suppliers.

Ensure that assigned projects are executed in accordance with Project Procedures (e.g. Project Execution Plan, Engineering Directives), Kent Quality Process, Client Standards, and applicable Industry Codes and Regulatory Requirements.
Clarify and communicate the project scope to Team members. The Project Engineer is the custodian of the work scope and shall work with the Client and the Team to resolve discipline scope queries.

Recognize and proactively resolve Inter-Discipline, Vendor, and Client interface issues to ensure the timely flow of accurate information.

Ensure project team members execute timely change management with clear communication to both internal interfaces (e.g. internal functions such as engineering, procurement, etc.) and external interfaces (e.g. Client, Vendor).
Ensure proper project documentation is maintained from project initiation to close-out.
Ensure work hour estimates are scope compliant and developed in accordance with the established workshare division of responsibility (DOR) and deliverable / activity norms.
Support field work as needed (RFI, kick off meetings, walk-downs, etc.).
Assist in developing RFQ packages and vendor interfacing and expediting.
Assists in the production of the project execution plan as needed.
