General Responsibilities:
Network engineer responsible for designing, implementing, managing and troubleshooting computer networks to ensure efficient and secure communication within the Capital One network. Role would include, but not limited to:
Network Design & Architecture - Planning and developing network infrastructure based on business needs. Creating Bill of Materials and getting quotes from vendors. Ordering and installing network circuits.
Installation & Configuration - Setting up routers, SD-WAN routers, switches, Out of Band management and other network equipment.
Maintenance & Optimization - Monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing network efficiency.
Security Management - Implementing security measures to protect against threats.
Support & Troubleshooting - Diagnosing and resolving connectivity and performance issues.
Upgrades & Scalability - Keeping networks updated with the latest technology and ensuring they can scale as the organization grows.
Work with various networking technologies including LANs, WANs, SDWANs, VPNs, cloud networking and wireless networks, ensuring seamless communication and data transfer. Automation and scripting is highly desired to have.

Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
At least 6 years of experience using build and deployment tools (Jenkins, GitHub, or Artifactory)
At least 4 years of experience with AWS
At least 2 years of team leadership experience

5+ years of experience with Cisco network hardware and software
2+ years of experience in Python or ansible scripting

Chief Objective of Position
The Sr. Microsoft 365 Engineer is responsible for the architecture, implementation, optimization, and secure operation of Christopher Newport University's Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments. This role is instrumental in advancing the University's cloud strategy, ensuring best practices for security and compliance, and integrating cloud services with on-premises infrastructure.
Work Tasks
* Design and implement Microsoft 365 solutions, including identity, security, management, and collaboration services, that support CNU's strategic goals.
* Lead Entra configurations, including Conditional Access, Hybrid Identity, and role based access control.
* Lead the planning and execution of the migration to Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams, transitioning to full ongoing administration and support upon successful deployment.
* Manage user and group lifecycle processes, including automated provisioning and de-provisioning of accounts and services for students, faculty, and staff.
* Collaborate with the Information Security Office to implement cloud security controls and respond to audit findings.
* Manage Microsoft 365 licensing, including assignment, tracking, and optimization to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance.
* Stay current with Microsoft cloud offerings and proactively recommend improvements to the environment.
* Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex Azure/Microsoft 365 issues from the university help desk.
* Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for Azure/Microsoft 365 system configurations, processes, and support procedures.
* Collaborate with other IT teams (Networking, Security, Endpoint Management) to ensure a cohesive and secure technology environment.
* Provide guidance and training to faculty, staff, and IT colleagues on best practices for using Microsoft 365 tools effectively and securely.

THIS ROLE:
The Project Engineer is the leader responsible for all aspects of production & survey within our dredging projects including providing technical/operational expertise to the operations team. WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Manage all survey assets
Develop dig strategy with project management
Analyze survey data to advise/plan daily dredge plan
Responsible for all technical/operational aspects of survey in the assigned project within the guidelines set by the Project Manager and customer
Generate daily survey related deliverables and discuss survey results with Project Manager and crew
Perform survey related calculations
Define, generate, and review project requirements documentation within defined scope
Develop work plans and hazard analysis to ensure safety and efficiency
Resolve of engineering, material and planning issues
Ensure implementation of improved engineering processes

WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE: As an R&D (Mechanical) Engineer, you'll play a key role in the research, design, and development of innovative products and technologies. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, product managers, manufacturing, sales, and customers to define product requirements, evaluate design concepts, and develop prototypes that push the boundaries of performance, cost, and manufacturability. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment focused on ideation, iteration, and hands-on development.
R&D ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, explore new concepts, and assess feasibility of new technologies.
Lead or support research efforts focused on new product platforms, materials, and technologies related to power distribution systems.
Use CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks to generate detailed models, rapid prototypes, and production-ready documentation.
Create and validate design concepts through simulations, prototyping, lab testing, and analysis.
Develop test plans, perform design validation, and analyze data to drive design improvements.
Participate in brainstorming sessions, technical reviews, and innovation workshops to generate and refine new ideas.
Work closely with suppliers, manufacturing, and quality teams to assess DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Test) considerations early in development.
Identify and resolve design challenges quickly, iterate based on feedback, and document all R&D findings thoroughly.
Help evaluate materials, components, and emerging technologies that could improve product performance, cost, or lifecycle.
Support early-stage product trials, pilot builds, and field-testing initiatives.
Ensure all new designs meet applicable standards, regulatory requirements (e.g., UL, ETL), and customer expectations.
Manage design changes, version control, and risk assessments through a formal R&D change process.
May require occasional travel for supplier visits, field testing, or collaboration with customers and partners.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field from an ABET-accredited program.
2-5 years of experience in R&D, new product development, or applied mechanical design-preferably within power distribution or electrical systems.
Familiarity with relevant standards: UL 891, UL 1558, UL 67, UL 857, UL 1008, and/or UL 62368/60950 is a strong plus.
Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (Inventor, SolidWorks), PLM systems (e.g., Vault), and engineering documentation tools.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to apply engineering fundamentals to open-ended design problems.
Hands-on experience with prototyping methods, lab testing, failure analysis, and continuous improvement.
A passion for innovation, curiosity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

The Project Engineer oversees all engineering and technical aspects of the project, with a strong emphasis on organizing and planning, to assure the highest level of accuracy and quality. This position reports directly to the Project Manager and provides support in project safety, documentation, plans and specifications, construction means and methods, scheduling, budgeting, projections, and project closeout.
Duties/Responsibilities
* Measure, report and forecast accurate cost and revenue dollars and quantities
* Fully review contract documents, drawings and specifications
* Assist Pre-Construction Services/Project Manager(PM) in defining project budget and cost codes
* Prepare Initial Budget Adjustments for PM review prior to start of work
* Ensure the acquisition of permits, through appropriate channels, as required
* Maintain and update RFI Log, Change Order Log, and Submittal Log
* Maintain and update the Materials Book - C25s/Certs/Etc.
* Support quality control/Ensures approved materials are being used
* Draft and submit Change Orders per PM approval
* Draft and submit RFIs per PM approval
* First level approval of subcontractor invoices for PM final approval

* Review and submit end of month billings
* Develop and communicate an effective plan in cooperation with the superintendent
* Monitor work to ensure means and methods are followed and effective
