The Role We Want You For
The Senior Project Engineer will be based on the construction project site and will provide high level support to the project staff to ensure quality and timely execution of design-build projects from design to completion. These phases include: Scheduling, subcontractor buyout, cost reporting, preparation of subcontracts, the handling of owner coordination, construction quality oversight, and project closeout. You may run smaller projects on your own, mentor Project Engineers, Summer Construction Interns, and take on the additional responsibilities to become a Project Manager.
The Specifics of the Role
Participate with project team and preconstruction services in development of a Project Chart of Accounts.
Coordinate with Project Superintendent in development of a project site logistics plan.
Assist Superintendent in the management of subcontractors.
Maintain understanding of the Clayco/Owner contract.
Oversee the submittal, change order, and pay request process.
Assist in generation of project costs and Job Cost Report.
Contribute to the analyzing and forecast of quarterly Total Cost Projection reports.
Monitor and record training of all staff personnel.
Monitor project labor.
Report and track equipment needs.
Assist preconstruction services in bidding projects.
Implement applicable safety, EEO, and Affirmative Action programs.
Participate in the project's quality process.
Contribute to schedule and project close-out processes.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related.
3-7 years of experience managing construction projects ($5+ million) ideally design-build.
Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles, practices, and technology.
Previous experience leading a successful project management team.
Ability to walk a job site, climb ladders, and scale multi-floor scaffolding.
Ability to lift objects of at least 50 lbs.

This position will receive daily tasking and prioritization from their site lead. The selected candidate will be responsible for operations and maintenance support of the MQ-4C Triton network and communications systems at a Forward Operating Base (FOB).
**Duties and Responsibilities:**

Project Engineer

The Project Engineer position is responsible for assisting in the management of projects from start-up to closeout under the direction of a Project Manager.
Responsibilities
Assist with the management of the bid turnover and project startup process, blueprints/specifications, review proposals/project requirements and coordinate materials procurement.
Ensure compliance with corporate policies and federal/state laws; provide status updates and maintain documentation records.
Responsible for material requisition, submittal compilation, purchase orders, on-site job walk-throughs, change orders request for information and close-out documents.
Assist in writing quotations and project proposals, estimating projects when necessary, review of contracts, setting up projects in relevant software applications, working with project managers, on-site foreman, and general contractors on assigned work.
Maintain and manage online project document postings utilizing Bluebeam Studio and Microsoft SharePoint.
Develops and maintains a positive relationship with vendors and clients.
Assists in coordinating the project team - field supervision, project resources and support department staff - as directed by the Senior Project Manager.
Assists in monitoring project planning, execution and closure, and all project functions as they relate to quality control and project management.
Establishes and maintains project management files.
Maintains drawing sets.
Estimates material takeoffs and develops change requests.
Develops and tracks Requests for Information (RFI's).
Researches, acquires and collates Submittals and Operations & Maintenance manual materials.
Actively utilizes project management software and company network to meet all project requirements for documenting, measuring, tracking and resolving project issues.
Work with the Production and Field teams; Project Managers, Site Superintendents and Field Staff.
Assists with job billing preparation and substantiations.
Tracks correspondence.
Assists Project Managers with additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications
2+ years of electrical experience/knowledge of construction, design, and cost management as a Project Engineer with Commercial, Institutional and/or Industrial projects.
Experience preparing take-offs and estimates for change orders.
Advanced abilities in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
Knowledge of NEC and NECA codes and TIA standards.
In-depth knowledge of the NFPA codes and has strong problem-solving skills.
Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods, etc.) as well as an understanding of Company and industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.
Knowledge of base principle of scheduling, project management for construction and electric materials is a plus.
Proficient in MS Office, Bluebeam, Accubid or other estimation software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
Ability to present self in a professional manner and represent the company image.
Demonstrated track record of leadership and project success.
Ability to work in fast-paced setting.

We are currently looking for a Project Engineer for our Southern Oregon office who is highly motivated and passionate about what they do. The Project Engineer will work closely with all members of the project team.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in the implementation of SBJ policies and execution of the project.
Preparation, monitoring, and updating project schedules. Working with the project team to reduce project constraints impact on the schedule.
Preparation, maintenance, and implementation of various document control entities such as daily reports, material procurement logs, submittal logs, as-builds, testing and inspection logs, RFI logs, and change order logs.
Distribution of new drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other project information to all affected parties.
Preparing agendas, documents, meeting minutes, and actions for various meetings including but not limited to owner/architect/contractor meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings.
Participating in project cost control
Supports a culture of creativity and accountability in the business unit solve problems in new ways while keeping organizational commitments.
Actively promote SBJs safety culture and practices. Provide insight and supervision for the development and maintenance of construction safety policies, procedures, and practices.
What Were Looking For:
College degree required.
Bachelor's in construction management or related construction field preferred.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, Procore, and scheduling software.
2+ years of experience as a project engineer.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as plans and specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Knowledge of construction principles/practices required.
Self-starter with strong organizational, file management, and time management skills.
Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a team-based environment
Ability to problem solve and develop outcomes with multiple stakeholders
