The Opportunity
This position is for an individual passionate about digital member experiences and is a potential fit for the Bank's Digital and Marketing Team. As a dedicated Bank Business Process Consultant I, you will apply knowledge of bank processes and products and acts as a trusted advisor by providing consultation services to internal clients in areas of strategic sourcing, alternatives and solutions, supplier management, affiliate agreement adherence, third party risk management, and bank operations. Collects and consolidates demand and identifies opportunities, within the Bank. Executes to and oversees the development of business process related solutions for internal clients and members. You will also evaluate processes/ resources and develops effective solutions/ improvements/ enhancements to drive the efficient operation of the Bank utilizing Agile best practices.

What you'll do:
Engages in the implementation of process initiatives that support the bank's strategic roadmap.
Develops customer specific business process enhancements for the Bank that aligns business deliverables, bank strategy and risk management framework.
Applies knowledge of the Bank operations models and aligns business deliverable processes and capabilities with business needs.
Provides consultation, solutions and change management to the business on risk management processes by using established methodologies, including Agile principles, and exercising control plans to ensure alignment with bank specific goals and process requirements.
Develops communication and change management plans for customers and internal stakeholders.
Ensures alignment between internal stakeholders and customers across assigned business process projects and services using proactive communication and engagement strategies.
Utilizes reporting, data, and analytics to measure process and project performance, adjust services and operational activities, and inform key stakeholders.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's Degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
4 years of experience in business process consulting, process design and/or program/project management.
Proficient knowledge of bank products and processes.
Experience in implementing and sustaining change/improvements.
Experience in applying quality management, process improvement, and leveraging process improvement tools and methodologies.
Experience/ knowledge of Risk Management frameworks and Banking Regulatory requirements.

Prepares reports and uses information systems, software and related sources of information. Trains other users on report preparation and database access. Consults on monitoring external sources, crafting custom reports, compiling and summarizing information, producing supporting documentation and exhibits and verification of information received from external sources.
Manages special projects and serves as data/technical lead and contact for team members and associates from other areas of the company.
Contributes to the continuous improvement of department processes through ongoing initiatives.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director/Associate Vice President and may have the opportunity to lead a small team of Business Insight professionals.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information, business, mathematics or related field with post-graduate studies preferred.
Experience: Typically, 10 or more years of experience in data visualization, financial and operational measurement and data extraction queries. Detailed experience with data extraction problem solving; working with large structured and unstructured data sets and databases to create understandable and relevant measures. Professional experience in insurance, financial services or a related industry preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of business policies and procedures, customer service concepts and practices. Sophisticated understanding of and working knowledge to build and maintain ad hoc and standard reports, including data visualization and business intelligence tools. Advanced knowledge on conducting data management and extraction of data for functional and operational measurement. Strong communication skills for interactions with others. Ability to understand functional and operational measurement needs, analyze data requests and interpret business problems into solutions. Ability to work under tight time constraints. Capable of developing distinctive and understandable data visualizations.

Manages special projects and serves as data/technical lead and contact for team members and associates from other areas of the company.
Contributes to the continuous improvement of department processes through ongoing initiatives.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director/Associate Vice President and may have the opportunity to lead a small team of Business Insight professionals.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information, business, mathematics or related field with post-graduate studies preferred.
Experience: Typically, 10 or more years of experience in data visualization, financial and operational measurement and data extraction queries. Detailed experience with data extraction problem solving; working with large structured and unstructured data sets and databases to create understandable and relevant measures. Professional experience in insurance, financial services or a related industry preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: In-depth knowledge of business policies and procedures, customer service concepts and practices. Sophisticated understanding of and working knowledge to build and maintain ad hoc and standard reports, including data visualization and business intelligence tools. Advanced knowledge on conducting data management and extraction of data for functional and operational measurement. Strong communication skills for interactions with others. The Personal Line Performance Analytics team monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of Auto and Home insurance. We analyze KPI trends, compare actual performance to expectations to answer questions like
Which areas are lagging compared to expectations?
What actions would result in profitable growth?
We combine product knowledge and analytics to upskill and deliver actionable insights to the Personal Lines organization. We use advanced methodology and tools to efficiently analyze and then must accurately articulate results so business partners understand the metrics and can take action.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with teammates to perform monitoring tasks of strategic initiatives and products, identify areas of risks, opportunities, and provide actionable insights. Work with & understands production, performance & modeled metrics
Develop a deep understanding of Personal Line data assets. Has the ability to combine data from multiple disparate sources.
Provides solutions to customer needs on large-scale projects and ad-hoc questions. Independently resolves low to medium complexity customer requests.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior Personal or Commercial Insurance experience is required
Product or Pricing Work Experience preferred.
Project Management Work Experience. Has the ability to work in a diverse group, form a project outline and march the project to completion.
Technical Skills: Working knowledge of analytical and reporting tools. Has basic knowledge & the ability to write SQL queries to pull data.
Communication Skills: Ability to build working relationships with business partners & and break down complex topics in order to solve problems.

Experience understanding database structures and data architecture is a plus.

Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
