Ideal candidates will have a strong interest and experience in leading clinical, translational, and/or basic science research in breast cancer disparities, a track record of publication in breast cancer research, and success in securing and maintaining extramural funding. The Mayo Clinic in Florida campus spans 400 acres in a suburban setting, and is currently undergoing an extensive expansion plan, which is adding more than 300,000 square feet (28,000 m2) of space and growth of hundreds of staff positions and 100 physicians. Three `newly constructed buildings provide an integrated service for complex cancers with space for neurologic and neurosurgical care, a lung restoration center that will allow for more transplantations, and a positron emission tomography (PET) radiochemistry facility with an on-site cyclotron. The expansion will also offer a particle therapy facility, of which there are only a few dozen in the United States, and the first carbon ion radiotherapy facility in North America.
