Responsible for leading the in-depth understanding and characterization of complex polymer materials including physical, metrological, spectroscopic, and imaging technology.
Collaborate cross-functionally with project team members to create and refine measurement systems capable of characterizing both nanoscale features and macroscopic in-vitro performance.
Solid statistics background (experience with Minitab and/or other advanced statistical analysis packages preferred).

The starting salary range posted for this position is $174,500.00 to $226,500.00 and reflects the projected salary range for new hires in this position in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including incentive compensation*, equity, or benefits.

+ 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

Position Summary
The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CAES) at the University of Georgia seeks to recruit an Assistant or Associate Research Scientist to work on the Circular Bioeconomy Systems (CBS) initiative. This is a non-tenured track position with 95% research and 5% service responsibility.
The position will be housed in the UGA CAES; however, the incumbent will be expected to work closely with faculty in the multidisciplinary teams from Colleges/Schools of Engineering, Forestry and Natural Resources, Arts and Sciences, Family and Consumer Sciences, and others. The candidate is expected to maintain an internationally renowned research program that produces and publishes work recognized and used by researchers and stakeholders around the world. The incumbent will report to the office of the CAES Associate Dean of Research.
The incumbent will coordinate and draft proposals for external funding to support the CBS initiative. Although this position is predominantly a research appointment, the person will interact with undergraduate/graduate students and stakeholders, and contribute to teaching and outreach mission of the University.

We have an immediate faculty equivalent opening for either an Asst. or Assoc. Veterinarian Scientist (Clinical Veterinarian), with a background and interest in research animal medicine. The successful candidate will join a team of thirteen veterinarians within the EPC Division of Animal Resources, which is responsible for the care and well-being of a large population of nonhuman primates. ENPRC is a major biomedical research institution that is rapidly expanding with its main facilities at Emory University and 117-acre Field Station in Lawrenceville. The position will primarily be based at the Field Station in Lawrenceville, Georgia. ENPRC veterinary staff provides preventative and clinical veterinary care for the nonhuman primate and rodent colony as well as research support to the resident and collaborating scientists in a diverse array of disciplines including immunology, infectious diseases, neuroscience, transplant medicine, imaging, psychobiology and other areas of research. The successful candidate will contribute to a wider range of IACUC, colony management, behavioral management and training activities and participate in the planning, design and or renovation of existing and new animal research facilities. S/he will contribute to the supervision of veterinary technicians and Emory's ACLAM residency training program.
The ideal candidate will have a DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited institution, be licensed to practice veterinary medicine, and have training or experience in laboratory animal medicine. S/he will also have excellent interpersonal and team building skills and strong written/oral communication skills. ACLAM certification or board eligibility is highly desirable, as are knowledge and hands on experience in surgical and medical procedures in nonhuman primates. Collaborative involvement with investigators is strongly encouraged and prior experience in an academic environment is a plus. As noted, this position is primarily based/housed at the Emory Field Station in Lawrenceville, Georgia, although the new hire will be part of the overall veterinary department that is based at both the Main Station (Atlanta, Emory University campus) and Field Station. The Clinical Veterinarian at the Field Station works in collaboration with and reports directly to the Assistant Director of Animal Resources, Field Station, as well as the Associate Director of Animal Resources.

As part of the research team, the postdoc will develop and test numerical models of soil organic matter cycling that incorporate ericoid mycorrhizal fungi and other microbial processes, and conduct model simulations of carbon and nitrogen cycling under different scenarios of plant traits, and forest mycorrhizal composition. The postdoc will collaborate with colleagues conducting laboratory and field measurements, including isotopic tracer experiments, measurements of fungal productivity, and evaluation fungal community structure as part of the broader ericoid project.
The postdoc will be based in the Wurzburger Lab at the University of Georgia, and will work closely with collaborators at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Dartmouth College and University of Wisconsin. The postdoc will also have the opportunity to engage with other ongoing biogeochemical projects on prescribed fire and wildfire.
