The Senior Food Scientist will lead technical projects that support Karlsburger Foods' strategic business goals, including new product development, product optimization, cost savings, quality improvement, and troubleshooting. This role will focus on a range of product forms including dry powders, broths concentrate, stocks concentrate, sauces, and gravies. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with deep experience in savory product development and commercialization, especially in powdered and concentrated formats.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Lead new product development projects with emphasis on dry powders, soup/broth bases, and seasoning blends.
Optimize existing powdered, liquid and paste products for quality, shelf-life, and cost.
Execute plant trials, product validations, and troubleshooting in both dry and wet processing environments.
Maintain accurate and detailed technical documentation, including formulations, batching instructions, and product specifications.
Participate in sensory panels and lead evaluations for taste, appearance, and texture.
Serve as a technical resource for powder blending, ingredient functionality, and processing parameters to operations and sales.
Partner with supply chain, operations, and procurement to support scale-up and identify alternative ingredients.
Apply food science principles to support sensory performance and commercializability.
Ensure formulations meet food safety, regulatory, and labeling requirements.
Manage multiple projects concurrently, delivering on time and within scope.

Position Overview:
The Associate Scientist will work closely with the technological development team focused on industrial PFAS wastewater treatment on the lab scale. The duty of this position includes the evaluation of our destruction system performance on customer-specific wastewater and the fundamental exploration of reaction chemistry. The Associate Scientist will also assist in processing data, preparing customer reports, and patent e. The selected candidate will receive thorough training in experimental procedures and data presentation techniques.
Essential Job Functions:
Become the expert on the operation of Claros PFAS destruction technology
Evaluate and execute adjustments as necessary to Claros solutions to ensure the technology meets customer specifications
Complete experiments in aid of customer proposals, implementations, and continued operation of Claros PFAS destruction technology
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation and operation of Claros solutions
Perform experiments independently with occasional guidance from senior team members
Keep a clean and safe workplace both inside and outside of the laboratory
Competencies & Skills:
Adequate knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes
Strong background in water chemistry
An eagerness to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge in the field of water treatment
Strong writing skills
Excellent teamwork skills, with a collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
Management of multiple projects timelines/tasks
Preferred Experience:
Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental engineering/chemical engineering/chemistry/atomic physics or a related field

Consulting Associate, Scientist, Impact Assessment

ERM is seeking a motivated Consulting Associate, Scientist, Impact Assessment to join our growing office in Minneapolis, MN. This role includes assisting Project Managers on a variety of projects including environmental impact assessment and permitting for capital projects, as well as environmental health and safety compliance, and site investigation & remediation. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical assistance on NEPA environmental assessment (EA) and environmental impact statement (EIS) projects and related activities in support of ERM clients' domestic and international development projects (i.e., power generation, electrical transmission, renewable/alternative energy, mining, oil and gas, and Brownfields projects).
Perform project delivery activities such as report writing, undertaking and organizing data collection and ecological field surveys, performing data and literature reviews, and developing recommendations for clients.
Prepare multi-media plans and permits (with an emphasis on FERC, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and State Historical Commissions) in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
Conduct tasks related land use planning, facility siting, risk assessment, and water resources management.
Provide technical support to Project Managers related to natural resource inventory and impact assessment, ecological and human health risk assessment, and multi-media environmental sampling.
Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
Communicate with project team members, clients, regulatory agencies, and subcontractors.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural science, or related discipline; MS preferred. Or equivalent experience.
Recent graduate to 2 years of relevant environmental experience or professional internships.
Strong commitment to safety.
Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports.
Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated attributes to become a strong consultant - team player, eagerness to learn and grow, self-starter who takes initiative, versatile, and service-oriented mentality.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, manage time effectively, handle multiple project assignments, meet strict deadlines, and travel to diverse project locations.

For the Consulting Associate, Scientist, Impact Assessment position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $61,299 - $67,309 (USD). An employee's pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where employee's fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above. This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).

Howard University seeks a highly skilled and motivated Biomedical Research Scientist specializing in neuroscience and genomic regulation to join its growing biomedical research enterprise. The incumbent will design and implement independent and collaborative projects focused on neuroscience and molecular/cellular signaling, contributing to Howard University's mission of advancing health equity through cutting-edge biomedical research.
SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:
Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, formally plans, executes the designated project (s) in the laboratory. Typically, responsible for performing non-supervisory duties, but usually participates in the training and supervision of the laboratory work of students.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
Internal contacts include investigators, administrators, faculty, staff and students both within the department/center and University-wide. External contacts include government agencies, scientific collaborators, vendors, visitors, and the general public.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Design and execute experimental studies in molecular and cellular neuroscience, focusing on neuroprotection, neuroinflammation and genomics.
