Software Applications Engineer, Robotics Systems
Edjuster
Principal software engineer job in San Francisco, CA
Atomic Machines is ushering in a new era of micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler™ technology platform. This platform enables new classes of micromachines to be designed and built by providing manufacturing processes and a materials library that are inaccessible to semiconductor manufacturing methods. It unlocks MEMS manufacturing not only for device classes that could never be produced by semiconductor methods, but also for entirely new categories. Furthermore, this digital platform is fully programmable in the way 3D printing is digital-whereas 3D printing produces parts of a single material using a single process, the Matter Compiler™ technology platform is a multi-process, multi-material system: bits and raw materials go in, and complete, functional micromachines come out. The Atomic Machines team has also created an exciting first device-made possible only through the Matter Compiler™ technology platform-that we will be unveiling to the world soon.
Our offices are in Emeryville and Santa Clara, California.

Founding Software Engineer
Clearpath 4.6
Principal software engineer job in San Francisco, CA
Hybrid in San FranciscoSalary range: $175K-$275K Job Application Link
About Us
Abundance Network is building a new generation of civic leaders and the technology to support them. We've organized 120+ elected officials in 30+ states, 100+ donors, and staffed chapters in San Francisco, Santa Monica, Oakland, Burlington, and Seattle-with new national programs scaling quickly. Our mission is to organize civic leaders to build a 21st-century government. We are focused on “policy outcomes that exist in reality” in housing, transportation, energy, and state capacity.
We are building Abundance from the ground up, helping elected officials deliver policy outcomes and connecting them with donors, academics, and professionals who can accelerate progress. Our “unit of success” isn't revenue-it's policy outcomes. We're now looking for a Founding SoftwareEngineer to build the core technology that makes this scalable.
Learn more about Abundance:
Podcast: AN Managing Director, Former Redwood City Mayor Giselle Hale on The Realignment
Podcast: AN Senior Advisor Jen Pahlka on Ezra Klein
Why This Role Matters
Elected officials are our customers. If you're the mayor of Boise and want to implement Abundance, you should be able to “phone a friend” and instantly access the playbooks, process knowledge, and partners you need. You'll build the software to make that possible.
Tech as leverage. LLMs, modern SaaS, and smart product design can massively accelerate how civic leaders plug into expertise, donor networks, and partners.
The missing piece. We have political operators, donor networks, and growing chapters. We have design and PM leadership. Now we need you-the technical lead to bring our first product features to life and scale them nationally.
What You'll Do
Ship the first features. Take early product prototypes (already in dev) and lead them through launch in the coming weeks.
Define the stack. Own the technical direction, and set up scalable, modern infrastructure.
Forward-deployed engineering. Work closely with elected officials, customer success, and the product team to understand how mayors, donors, and partners actually operate, then translate that into tools.
Build process knowledge. Help codify and document the “step-by-step” pathways to policy wins, turning them into usable software for leaders nationwide.
Maximize impact. Focus on speed, scale, and deliberate ambition-building what helps people now, and iterating fast.
Who You Are
Mission-driven: Energized by Abundance's vision of building a durable political faction and empowering local government. You want your work to matter.
Builder: Thrive on getting from zero to one-shipping products quickly, obsessing over users, and iterating fast.
Full-stack capable: Comfortable moving across frontend (React/Typescript), backend (Python), and cloud infra.
Resourceful & outcome-oriented: Pragmatic about “buy vs. build,” adept at leveraging open source, volunteers, and modern AI. You care more about impact than polishing non-essentials.
Collaborative: Excited to work with a cross-functional mix of startup operators and seasoned political leaders who get stuff done.
Experienced: 5+ years of softwareengineering experience. You don't need to be deeply senior; what matters is ambition, urgency, and the ability to scale product quickly.
Nice to Have
Experience in civic tech, political campaigns, or government systems.
Background in early-stage startups or as a founding engineer.
Strong product and UX instincts.
Curiosity about using AI/LLMs in practical civic contexts.
The Team
We're a 20-person org, about half focused on national programs, half on local chapters. Roughly a quarter of us come from startups/tech, and the rest are skilled political operators who know how to deliver real outcomes. We've built trust with elected officials and donors over years-and now we're forming our first product squad. You'll join a tight team with design, PM, and operations already in place, and take point as the lead engineer.
What We Offer
A founding seat at the table: shape the culture and direction of Abundance's tech team.
The chance to scale a political movement with durable, national impact.
Competitive salary.
Hybrid culture with flexibility for exceptional candidates elsewhere.

Software Engineer (Product)
Column 4.5
Principal software engineer job in San Francisco, CA
For companies building financial technology and transforming the financial services space, the biggest bottleneck to their growth and innovation is often the underlying banks and infrastructure stack they rely on. We have spent our careers founding and scaling companies like Plaid, Square, Meta, Blend, and Affirm, and have seen this problem firsthand - builders and developers needing to partner with traditional banks, and creating API and abstraction layers over the patchwork that is the bank, its core, and many other vendors. All of this results in a complex (and often expensive) banking supply chain involving a user, fintech, BaaS middleware provider, bank, core and the Federal Reserve.
At Column, we set out to simplify and fix this. We are a bank and a software company built from the ground up, offering builders and developers technology-forward banking solutions that cut out the hundreds of vendors, middleware providers, and abstraction layers. This means a safer, more transparent, and less costly banking supply chain. Come build with us!
The opportunity:
Column is a developer-first bank, and this role sits at the heart of that mission. As a Product Engineer, you'll be responsible for building interfaces, APIs, and backend systems that power how customers interact with our platform. You'll write TypeScript and React for our dashboard, Go for our backend services, and report directly to our CEO and collaborate with our Head of design on product direction. This role isn't layered with PMs (we don't have any!) or long handoffs-you'll own the full lifecycle of your work, from spec through deployment, including meeting with customers to understand how your projects perform in production. Our team is lean, high-trust, and execution-focused, and this role comes with real autonomy and visibility. If you're excited by technical depth, product intuition, and building critical infrastructure from first principles, you'll thrive here.
This role is San Francisco-based, and you'll be expected to work out of our (awesome) Presidio-based office 3+ days a week
.
Read more about Life @ Column and our hiring process here.
What you'll do:
Build and maintain key user-facing and internal features across our dashboard and core systems
Write clean, testable TypeScript and Golang code
Design and document APIs, then own their implementation and reliability
Collaborate with engineering, compliance, business, and customers to iterate on product functionality
Influence product direction by bringing user feedback directly into design decisions
Take full ownership of projects, from idea to launch
What you'll need to be successful:
5+ years of production softwareengineering experience
Strong experience in TypeScript; React is a plus but not required
Experience with a strongly typed backend language (Go, Rust, Java, etc.) and SQL
Ability to work independently and drive product decisions end-to-end
Willingness to engage directly with customers to gather feedback
A high bar for quality, clarity, and performance in code
What you'll get from us:
Comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans, including options that are 100% covered by Column for you and 100% covered for your dependents!
Comprehensive family planning and fertility benefits via partnership with Carrot, including reimbursement of up to $20,000 in qualified expenses
FSA and HSA account options to enable use of pre-tax money for medical and dependent care expenses
401k plan, including self-directed brokerage options
Flexible time-off policy - take the time off that you want and need to relax and recharge
100% paid parental leave, including 16 weeks for birth mothers, 12 weeks for primary caregivers, and 8 weeks for secondary caregivers
️Catered lunches and dinners for SF employees
Commuter benefits
Regular team building events, including annual offsite
Pay transparency:
Compensation packages at Column include base salary, equity, and benefits. New hire offers are made based on a candidate's experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.
The annual US base salary range for this role is $150,000-$250,000 + equity.
We look forward to hearing from you
Column is committed to working with the best and brightest people from the broadest talent pool possible. We value bringing together a team with different perspectives, educational backgrounds, and life experiences, and believe a diversity of ideas is what allows us to develop the best solutions. All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply.

You'll be successful if:
Customers say “I trust [your name] to fix anything.”
You turn customer frustration into loyalty through fast, empathetic problem-solving.
You translate messy requirements into clean, reusable product features and can build 0 to 1 features fast.
What You'll Do
Build custom integrations with customer systems (APIs, webhooks, data pipelines).
Design and deploy architectures for high-volume environments
Triage and debug production issues across customer deployments.
Implement customer-specific extensions that don't yet belong in the core platform. Communicate with customers directly.

Languages: TypeScript/Node.js (primary), Python (nice to have)
Infrastructure: REST APIs, PostgreSQL/Supabase, workflow engines (Temporal/Airflow/Prefect)
DevOps: Git, Docker, monitoring (Datadog), CI/CD tools
Bonus: Experience in fintech, compliance, or AI‑driven data systems
Why You'll Love Working Here
High impact: Your code directly enables financial institutions to prevent financial crime.

Technical breadth: You'll touch everything from APIs and data pipelines to LLM‑driven automation.
Startup ownership: Small, senior team where you shape how we deliver and scale.
Reusable innovation: Your delivery code becomes part of our platform foundation.
About you
You're motivated by joining a startup at our stage because you want to build something fast and have direct impact-not because you need extensive structure. You're energized by combining technical work with customer interaction. You love solving open‑ended problems, asking good questions, and structuring solutions without needing perfect specifications upfront.
You make pragmatic decisions with incomplete information and proactively pull in the right people to overcome blockers. You're adaptable when priorities shift and have a growth mindset. You understand the broader system you're working in-not just what the AI does, but how it fits into the customer's full workflow.

15 days PTO + holidays, unlimited sick days
Flexible leave options

Ketch 4.0
Principal software engineer job in San Francisco, CA
We're rebuilding the internet's data layer for the AI era. Ketch runs systems that analyze billions of events and make millions of decisions every day, giving global brands real‑time intelligence and control over how data moves across their entire ecosystem. This requires infrastructure that can keep up with the speed, volume, and complexity of modern AI‑driven systems and deliver high‑integrity outcomes across billions of data interactions.
We're a well‑funded Series B startup, backed by top‑tier investors and led by a team with multiple exits. We build fast, ship with ownership, and work directly with customers to solve their hardest data challenges.
Why Us?
The AI era is breaking every old assumption about data protection. Sensitive data moves faster, through more systems, with higher stakes. Traditional privacy and governance tools can't keep up. You'll help build the infrastructure that replaces them.
Join us to engineer real‑time systems that actively safeguard personal data at massive scale. You'll design pipelines that classify and control data as it flows, services that react instantly to risk, and distributed systems that enforce user rights across hundreds of technologies. Your work ensures that companies can use data responsibly and that individuals retain control over how their data is collected and used.
Role Overview
As a Backend Engineer at Ketch, you'll build reliable, scalable systems that make sense of messy, high‑stakes data flowing through databases, pipelines, SaaS tools, websites, and mobile apps. You'll build Go microservices that connect across an organization's entire stack, design APIs that support real‑time governance decisions, and help construct pipelines that classify and route data with speed, accuracy, and resilience.
This is backend engineering where correctness matters, latency matters, and scale is real. You'll help create the APIs and data engines that support automated governance, power agentic intelligence, and enable companies to act on insights across their data ecosystem.
This is a hybrid role based out of the San Francisco HQ 3 days a week.
What You'll Own
Build and evolve high‑performance Go microservices that process distributed data flows and support real‑time decisions.
Develop clean, well‑versioned APIs and backend systems that orchestrate permissions, data directives, and automated actions across external systems.
Design and implement distributed pipelines and event‑driven architectures that transform structured/unstructured data and feed downstream intelligence.
Own the full lifecycle: design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, iteration.
Apply resilience patterns (timeouts, retries, circuit breakers) to keep systems predictable under real‑world load.
Drive performance improvements through concurrency tuning and efficient CPU/memory usage.
Champion strong engineering foundations: CI/CD, testing, load evaluation, secure cloud deployment.
Contribute to future architecture decisions such as service boundaries, data models, queue/stream strategy, and AI integration points.
Collaborate with product and customers to translate requirements into elegant, scalable system designs.
What We're Looking For
Strong backend engineering foundation in Go or similar languages.
Experience building APIs, distributed systems, or microservices in cloud‑native environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).
Familiarity with databases/storage: Postgres, DynamoDB, ScyllaDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, etc.
Understanding of distributed‑systems fundamentals: concurrency, queues/streams, transactions, event‑driven patterns.
Experience with gRPC, REST, and service‑to‑service communication.
Comfort with Kubernetes, containers, and core operational concerns (security, networking, resource management).
Interest in modern AI/data tools (LLM APIs, embeddings, retrieval).
Strong collaboration, curiosity, and a drive to build systems that quietly “just work” at massive scale.
Degree in CS or equivalent practical experience building production systems.
$160,000 - $200,000 a year
The estimated base salary range for this position is $160,000 to $200,000, which does not include the value of benefits or a potential equity grant. A wide range of factors are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets, market conditions, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and business and organizational needs

Form CC-305 Page 1 of 1 OMB Control Number 1250-0005 Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?
We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.
Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at ***************** .
