Job Description:
The Principal Engineer works closely with the Manager of Cloud & Identity Services to help lead a team of engineers in strategic and day-to-day execution ensuring all service level agreements and customer satisfaction goals are achieved. She/he is primarily responsible for the design, administration, and maintenance of the enterprise messaging and identity services platforms including Office 365, Exchange (Online/Hybrid), Ping, Auth0, DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory. At a principal level, responsibilities include advanced configuration and troubleshooting of cloud and on-premises infrastructure supporting the portfolio. Given the complexity and range of the role, the Principal Engineer is expected to be knowledgeable across development life cycle methodologies, operations, security, infrastructure, and support, to bridge cross-functional areas.

The Principal Engineer is the subject matter expert across the complete lifecycle of messaging and identity operations to ensure maximum performance, reliability, and scalability of the enterprise infrastructure. This support includes ownership and configuration of operational monitoring tools and the methods of remediation (proactive and reactive support models). She/he is a functional leader of engineering activities such as: configuration patterns, practices, standards, and workflows, solution architecture, and automation. Daily activities also include the monitoring and management of the security posture of critical technical infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments.

The Principal Engineer leads operational support, including escalations related to defined SLAs using standard processes and ensuring customer satisfaction. She/he motivates the team to ensure root cause analysis, escalation, reporting, tracking and resolution of all issues, with a continual focus on high availability, continuous improvement, and agility. She/he provides technical guidance and development to foster an environment of continuous improvement in the technical environment.

Skills, Education and Additional Information
Four-year university degree or college diploma or equivalent experience in the field of computer science, information systems, business or related field is required.Demonstrated subject matter expertise in design, development, implementation, and support of enterprise messaging and identity services applications including Active Directory, Ping, Auth0, Exchange, Office 365, Exchange Online Protection, external DNS record configuration (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC), DHCP, and PowerShell for automation, maintenance, and reporting.Strong experience with distributed systems and architectures, including troubleshooting of integration, performance, and availability issues.Industry certifications for messaging and identity services (e.g., Microsoft 365) are preferred.Industry certifications for public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) are preferred.Deep understanding of and experience with modern scripting languages, system monitoring/analysis tools, and data flows.Proven experience with e-mail security, archiving solutions, and electronic records management and policies.Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical, workflow modeling, and communication skills.Ability to develop strong working relationships across technical and business functions.Self-motivated with ability to prioritize multiple objectives under tight deadlines.IT experience within a multi-facility healthcare organization is preferred.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performs advanced regulatory/technical problem solving and provides analysis/insights in support of plant and fleet regulatory activities. Possesses superior knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has excellent knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. Understands interrelations and functions of various organizations (e.g., NRC, INPO, NEI,NERC etc.) related to nuclear power. Functions as a leader with recognized level of expertise in the regulatory area and is a subject matter expert. As a subject matter expert, leads industry trade groups and works with regulatory agencies to influence programs, projects and regulatory decisions. Develops relationships with key stakeholders and is recognized by peers and supervisors as an expert in his/her respective regulatory area. Trains, mentors and coaches' station and corporate regulatory personnel, and develops and provides training as appropriate.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Perform advanced regulatory and technical tasks and provide insights in support of plant and fleet regulatory activities. Provide initial or complete task management of regulatory issues. Assure all regulatory products prepared or overseen are in accordance with applicable procedures, licensing basis, industry codes, standards, and all regulatory requirements. (30%) Provide regulatory/technical expertise and leadership through direct involvement to resolve regulatory issues in assigned programs and other regulatory areas, as necessary. (20%) Perform independent and in-depth research, reviews, studies and analyses to develop, manage and implement regulatory activities , related to plant safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability ensuring compliance to site's needs, regulatory requirements, and corporate polices. (15%) Provide industry leadership and interface directly with regulatory decision-makers and support staff to influence and drive regulatory decisions and policies consistent with Exelon's goals.. (10%) Train and mentor corporate and station regulatory personnel and other functional areas in subject matter areas of expertise.. (10%) Provide strategic recommendation on technologies and techniques to improve performance, simplify operation, reduce costs, reduce regulatory burden, correct regulatory non-compliances, or comply with changes in codes or regulations. (10%) Perform ERO role and maintain qualifications as an active member of the ERO. (5%)

JOB SCOPE
Possesses superior regulatory/technical expertise/skills and performs advanced tasks independently. Recognized as subject matter expert in specific regulatory areas. Responsible to communicate and advocate for the Exelon position with Exelon senior leadership, industry trade groups and regulatory agencies to influence key program, initiatives, and regulations. Provide support to the Licensing Directors as necessary to represent Exelon Nuclear when dealing with the regulatory agency staff (e.g., NRC, NERC) involving routine and non-routine nuclear licensing, regulatory, and compliance matters. Performs regulatory tasks independently and actively imparts knowledge to others. Higher level of accountability than a Senior Regulatory Engineer. Must be able to manage and implement regulatory processes and programs, has wide latitude to make regulatory/technical decisions within accountabilities. Department Specific Roles/Responsibilities: Licensing Licensing and Compliance includes the following functions: Licensing Actions (e.g., License and Technical Specification Amendment Requests, Relief Requests, Exemption Requests), managing regulatory compliance and interface, various written correspondence with regulatory authorities, and single point of contact with the regulatory (e.g., NRC's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and NERC Regions). Support day-to-day site operations and regulatory compliance. Coordinate emergent issues of complexity requiring off-site assistance. This includes activities such as non-routine reportability determinations, case management,compliance issues and program implementation interpretations. Maintain expertise on industry initiatives and regulatory issues important to the sites. As part of business and project planning, will coordinate common projects affecting multiple sites. Assists and leads in the preparation of Notices of Enforcement Discretion (NOEDs) and Regulatory analysis, as applicable, and the facilitation of identifying resources for tasks that require support beyond what is available at the sites. revised 4/14/2021
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS Engineering or equivalent technical degree Minimum 10 years professional relevant nuclear power or NERC professional experience and exceptional performance (e.g., rated in upper quartile for last 2 years) Superior regulatory/technical expertise in a specific area (e.g., licensing actions, reportability, performance improvement, etc.) and recognized regulatory resource (internal/external) Strong written and oral communication skills Approval of VP Licensing & Regulatory Affairs required to obtain this classification (and recommendation of Sr. Manager Licensing /Director-Licensing/Regulatory Assurance Manager and Site Vice President, as applicable)

Assist in the organization and coordination of activities on government contracts, proposals, functional safety certifications, and FPGA development. Assist in the definition of project scope and goals. Create long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and creating schedules. Collaboratively define requirements, and track deliverables among a wide array of cross functional teams in different geographies. Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project. Track overall team progress. Propose and drive new methodologies to improve quality, pull in schedule, lower cost, and remove barriers to program execution. Coordinate and drive focused sub-teams to resolve critical issues that arise during program execution. Identify and manage program risks. Identify opportunities that can positively influence program performance and company culture. Communicate both in written and verbal form, program status, challenges, and requests to management and senior executives .

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field With a BS degree 8.5 - 12 years of experience or with a MS degree 6.5 - 10 years of experience in FPGA or semiconductor development, program management and/or product validation Knowledge of silicon development, firmware development, software development, product validation, silicon manufacturing engineering. Excellent project and program management and planning skills, including scheduling, assessment, resource management, requirements management, status reporting, schedule tracking and risk management. Demonstrated team leadership skills and experience. Ability to promote ideas persuasively, influence others, and build and maintain effective professional relationships with internal partners and business leaders Highly organized with the ability to think strategically and tactically. Excellent English communication skills.

Desired Qualifications: PMP certification or related training. Ability and experience to be able to schedule and track projects using Microsoft Project. Experience with working with geographically spread, multidiscipline teams across multiple time zones. Functional safety certified professional or have experience taking a product through functional safety certification (IEC 61508, ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE, or similar from the industrial, aerospace or automotive industry). Experience working on US government contracts, proposals, and requests for information. Experience with Phase/Gate or other program management methodologies.
