Schedule:
+ Day shift: 8am - 4pm (NOTE: changing to 8am - 8pm on a 223 rotating schedule in 2026)
+ Overnight shift: 12AM - 8AM (NOTE: changing to 8pm - 8am on a 223 rotating schedule in 2026
Salary: Pay up to $26hr (pending experience) +$1.25/hour shift premium on 3rd
Job responsibilities:
+ Available to work 8 hours shift plus overtime.
+ Minimum two-year printing experience
+ Flexographic printing experience preferred *
+ Exceptional time management and organization skills.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
+ Receives and reviews job jackets, specifications, and customer requirements.
+ Retrieves and receives dies, inks, materials, plates, etc. and sets up press.
+ Secures approvals before running job and then solves problems to ensure quality is excellent.
+ Constantly monitors and adjusts press for consistent products; ensures product is color-correct, in registration, varnished, etc.
+ Cuts sample of printed material from end of printed roll and inspects for imperfections, such as blurred or off-center impressions.
+ Maintains inks, colors, and registration to ensure quality meets specifications.
+ Cleans plates, cylinder, and dye fonts, and lubricates press as needed.
+ Responsible to operate press in a safe manner and produce quality product with minimal scrap, meet production schedules and keep work area clean.
+ Ensure departmental compliance with all certification requirements (AIB, ISO).
Essential Tasks:
+ Follow all safety rules and regulations, wear PPE.
+ Must always work in a safe manner; watch for unsafe conditions and report to supervisor to rectify.
+ Always be at your press on time and ready to work.
+ Press area must be kept clean and orderly. Follow all AIB, ISO policy's in place. Maintain GMP
+ Read, understand and follow work instructions to produce product that meet standards (production, scrap and quality).
+ Follow quality requirements to ensure all product produced meet or exceed specifications.
+ Communicate with employees from your own and other departments to create a team work environment and ensure that the machine is in top running condition.
+ Perform any light maintenance that is needed on machine and communicate major issues to supervisor/lead person.
+ Fill out all required paperwork and labels.
+ Must be able to work scheduled overtime.
+ Must be able to lift 40lbs.
+ All other duties as assigned.

Job Summary
To safely set-up, adjust and monitor printing presses to ensure they run at prescribed quality and efficiency standards. Maintains cleanliness of presses and assure all safety procedures are followed. Ensure that printing area meets Huhtamaki housekeeping requirements. This responsibility is to be expected within the scope of all company policies, procedures and guidelines.
Essential Functions
Observes all safety and company policies and participates in company safety programs. Responsible for all safety guards, switches being in place and functional.
Performs set-ups on printing equipment following established tasks and performs quality checks on critical customer requirements prior to beginning production.
Insures good print quality by maintaining proper color levels to standards visually and with Xrite iControl software and spectrophotometers. Reviews press retains (samples) after each roll for print defects and addresses defects immediately. Follows the quality hold procedures for all nonconforming materials.
Manages inks effectively. Measuring viscosities manually using a #2 Zahn cup and a stop watch as well as using viscometers. Communicates and works effectively with onsite ink vendor.
Follows and meets production schedules for customer orders.
Completes all required tasks in TWS (Transition Works), including issuing input rolls to the order, reporting run time and downtime, reporting waste, printing labels for finished goods, moving storage locations, and reporting production for the order.
Completes required reports accurately.
Acquires and demonstrates a good working knowledge of flexographic printing equipment and be able to perform cold start ups, web the press, and perform most press maintenance level jobs.
Able to manage the press and personnel, teach and lead others, trouble shoot all printing and peripheral equipment and perform roll on-loading and off-loading.
Safely store and remove anilox rolls, bridges, and sleeves.
Maintain anilox roll cleanliness using the Sanilox cleaner.
Understand the relationship between plate mounting and its affect on the job as it prints.
Shift to shift communication and hand over will be critical to performance standards
Must keep cleaners, towels, and supplies ready at press.
Work with and through others to accomplish required tasks.
Communicates concerns and ideas effectively to Printing Management.
Strictly follows all AIB, GMP audit guidelines. Maintains cleanliness of equipment
Actively participates in Continuous Improvement projects and teams.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Required
Must have 5+ years as a 1st or 2nd press operator in all Flexographic print technology.
Requires basic educational background normally acquired through the completion of high school level programs leading to a diploma or GED.
Must learn the operation of printing equipment through completion of Print Operator training program.
Must have good color perception and the ability to see, read, and distinguish letters and/or symbols.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively with others.
Requires a mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work overtime as required to meet schedule needs.
Preferred
Previous experience with Lean 6-Sigma is desirable.
Environment
Incumbent works in a manufacturing environment. Individual will work a set schedule including weekend work. Requires prolonged standing (75%) with occasional walking (25%). Individual will operate various printing machines. Individual will use various tools such as spatulas, Allen wrenches, screwdrivers, needle nose pliers and soft hammer. Requires twisting, bending/stooping, squatting/kneeling and climbing ladders. Incumbent will lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and lift/carry more than 50 pounds occasionally. Requires reaching above, at and below shoulders.
