This role leads the facility's food safety and quality programs, oversees compliance with HACCP, FSMA, and GFSI requirements, and provides leadership to QA and sanitation teams to maintain continuous improvement in quality systems and plant hygiene. Essential Functions Quality Assurance & Compliance Manage and maintain the plant's Quality Management System (QMS) to meet internal, customer, and third-party audit requirements. Oversee daily QA operations including product testing, process verification, and documentation review. Lead and coordinate internal, customer, and regulatory audits (FDA, USDA, State, GFSI). Investigate non-conformances, implement root cause analysis, and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs). Ensure compliance with labeling, allergen control, and traceability requirements. Maintain accurate and complete quality and production records in compliance with regulatory standards. Food Safety & HACCP Serve as the plant's PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual). Oversee implementation, verification, and validation of food safety programs including HACCP, FSMA Preventive Controls, environmental monitoring, and supplier verification. Lead the Food Safety Team and ensure effective communication of food safety objectives across departments. Monitor trends in microbiological results, environmental swabs, and product testing to proactively identify risks. Leadership & Training Develop and deliver employee training on GMPs, food safety, allergen control, sanitation, and quality awareness. Promote a culture of food safety and continuous improvement throughout the facility. Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams to ensure alignment with quality objectives. Continuous Improvement Analyze process data to identify opportunities for quality improvement and waste reduction. Support implementation of initiatives related to product quality and safety. Recommend and validate changes to formulations, processes, or equipment to improve quality performance. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of the company's financial information, assisting with financial reporting, and supporting key accounting functions. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge and a proactive approach to process improvement, working closely with the Accounting Manager and other members of the Finance & Accounting team. Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger entries to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals, account analysis, and variance analysis. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies, ensuring all accounts are properly reconciled. Provide support during audits by preparing documentation and responding to audit requests. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations. Monitor compliance with internal controls and company policies, identifying opportunities for process improvements. Perform various other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager. Support intercompany reconciliations. Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA / CMA 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or similar industry. Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, financial reporting, and internal controls. Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software (preferably SAP), with advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and solve problems effectively. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This role is essential to our recycling process, involving the pickup and delivery of Gondola and flatbed trailers as well as roll-off boxes. You'll interact with customers, operate equipment and help move scrap materials safely and efficiently. As a CDL Driver with us, you're not just behind the wheel, you're at the heart of the recycling process. You'll play a key role in collecting and transporting recyclable metal materials from the customer sites to our processing yard, helping turn waste into opportunity. The ideal candidate will be safety conscious, customer-focused, and capable of working independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety. Completes 5-6 local runs daily, depending on customer needs. Trips can be local or over an hour away. Assist in managing container inventory to ensure roll-off boxes are in appropriate locations. Pick up and deliver containers to Alter facilities or customer sites. Secure loads based on truck and container type or have load repositioned for safe transport. Communicate customer details and deliver updates to office. Assist with equipment operation within the yard to load or move and process scrap material Adhere to all company safety protocols, including PPE and monthly safety meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Valid Class A CDL or Class B CDL (for straight truck) license. Load securement knowledge a must. Minimum of 3 years of verifiable driving experience. Ability to lift 30-50 lbs. regularly and up to 100+ lbs. with assistance. General knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials preferred. Heavy equipment operation experience is a plus.
