In accordance with UAHSF established policies and procedures, the APP is responsible for the provision and management of patient care in a clinical area for a specific patient population including UAB. This population will be patients diagnosed with deep venous thrombosis. Under the general direction of physicians in Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery, and Hematology the APP will perform inpatient DVT consultations, routine management of inpatients with DVT, and outpatient clinic. The APP will utilize critical thinking abilities in the evaluation of care and the triage of DVT patients with the assistance of Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery, and Hematology staff. The APP will display good rapport and professionalism with patients, house staff, and all members of the team. The collaborating physician shall be available for direct communication for consultation and referral or arrange for the same medical coverage by a physician who is preapproved by the State Board of Medical Examiners in the same manner as the collaborating physician of record.
