Job Description
Wonderful College Prep Academy is accepting applications for part-time tutors in the GEAR UP program at Sanger High School. GEAR UP Tutors will follow the student cohorts through their high school years. Assignments will be approximately 20 hours per week during lunch periods and/or during class times (mornings and/or afternoons). Workdays will align with the Sanger Unified School District and Wonderful College Prep Academy calendars. This position will report to the GEAR UP Coordinator in Sanger, CA.
This is an in-person position.
The GEAR UP Tutor's responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Provide tutoring services to students 1:1 or in small groups in classrooms.
Collaborate with and provide support for GEAR UP staff.
Work directly with students to provide various academic support services (i.e., tutoring, assisting with completing forms, and assisting with workshops).
Assist in the planning, organizing, and implementing GEAR UP grant activities.
Follow school and GEAR UP protocols and procedures.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Tutor Hours:
Tuesday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Wednesday: 9:30 am - 1:30 pm
Thursday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Qualifications
College graduate or be enrolled in college and have completed freshman English, college math (Algebra II).

A self-starter with exceptional work ethic and the ability to work well away from colleagues and management.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
An ability to quickly establish rapport and communicate well with scholars.
