What you will do as a Math Tutor:
Teach in-center and/or online using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices
Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
Assess students learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions
Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes

Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I

Compensation: $27.18 - $32.06 per hour worked
Hours: 5.5 hours per day, 27.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

Emerson Williams Elementary School has an opening for a Math Tutor. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated professional with superior communication skills to provide student intervention support for the 2025-2026 academic year.
The Math Tutor will work across all grade levels (K-6) to support students with direct, targeted intervention/instruction to promote student growth toward grade-level expectations and goal mastery.
Responsibilities:
Implement daily lesson plans for students targeting individualized support in reading and/or math;
Work directly with students to provide targeted small group/one-on-one instruction as well as routine push-in support in classrooms.
Provide students with positive feedback and encouragement;
Support student understanding of math and literacy concepts and demonstration of fluency skills;
Track and maintain records of student progress;
Collaborate with classroom teachers to support student needs through small group instruction, communicate goals/achievements, progress, student challenges, and changes in interventions;
Foster a positive learning environment that is sensitive to student needs and promotes increased learning performance;
Provide the building reading consultant, curriculum specialist, and classroom teachers with regular reports of student progress toward learning goals.;
May be asked to substitute for another staff member during instances where there is no other substitute available
Qualifications:
Hold a minimum of an Associate's Degree;
Elementary Teacher certification is preferred, but not required;
Enthusiasm for helping children;
Respectful/collaborative attitude;
Ability to manage plans and drive positive results;
Patience, flexibility, and adaptability.
