Collaborates with LEP Academic Counselors to meet the learning needs of the students. Actively maintain and update Availability and Subjects on Accudemia- our tutoring scheduling software. Completes Tutoring Assessment for all appointments within 48 hours of scheduled appointment. Updates appointment information (changes, cancellations, etc.) within 24 hours. Help students clarify questions so they know why they were having trouble with the material. Gives students academic tips and tools they can use after they graduate from DU. Helps students think critically about the course material. Helps students explore new ways of learning. Helps students develop a growth mindset so that they don't feel "stuck" with their learning methods. Helps students stay accountable before and during tutoring appointments. Completes all Tutoring Assessments in a timely manner and clearly communicates what was covered in the session and the resulting outcomes. Communicates via phone, email, or in-person on a consistent basis with the Tutoring Coordinator/Lead Tutor to update them with any questions, comments, or concerns they may have regarding LEP tutoring. Attends required trainings and tutor meetings throughout academic year. Keeps schedule updated and actively communicates with Tutoring Coordinator, students, and Lead tutor regarding cancellations of appointments. Additional tasks as needed and requested by the Tutoring Coordinator. LEP Tutors must meet expectations of LEP Department, Tutoring Coordinator, and are subject to termination after violating policies and procedures, receiving over three negative feedback reports from students, or any other violations, conduct, or behavior deemed inappropriate by the Tutoring Coordinator and/or the LEP.
