The Job: SmartStart Education seeks a small group Bilingual Spanish Math Tutor to work with small groups of middle school students on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Each small group consists of 1-4 students. Each group consists of students who have been identified as students who are struggling with fundamental Math skills. Students are from all grade levels, including 6th through 8th. The tutor will work with each group several times throughout the week at a middle school in Manhattan, NY. Groups will take place within the classroom (push-in services) or outside of the classroom (pull-out services). Tutors should be flexible and comfortable with both settings. Each tutor will be given the responsibility of taking daily attendance and monitoring student progress using a personal device (mobile phone). Job Details: The tutoring position begins promptly on December 10, 2025 and ends on May 1, 2026. The schedule will be 8am through 2:20pm. Applicants are encouraged to schedule interviews as soon as possible to allow ample time to complete onboarding steps. Failure to do so may result in a position being unavailable. Mastery of middle school math concepts and skills, substantiating proficiency in the subject matter. Display of genuine passion and unwavering commitment towards fostering the success of students. Exemplary punctuality, ensuring timely attendance and adherence to established schedules. Proficiency in communication skills, enabling effective and articulate interaction with students, colleagues, and interested parties. Ability to comfortably commute to the designated location.
