Tutors will work approximately 18 hours per week, across 3 days per week, providing in-person instruction at a Manhattan high school. The position pays $32/hour. Responsibilities Provide engaging, structured math instruction in small-group settings. Support students in key math concepts such as algebraic expressions, functions, equations, and geometry. Adapt instruction to Spanish-speaking students as needed, using bilingual explanations and scaffolding techniques. Integrate study skills strategies (e.g., organizing work, problem-solving approaches, test-taking strategies) into sessions. Take daily attendance using a personal device (mobile phone) or a school-issued laptop. Communicate professionally with school staff and Toolkit Tutors leadership. Requirements We are looking for tutors who meet the following criteria: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (completed, or close to completion showing strong academic performance). At least one year of experience teaching or tutoring in a school or educational setting. Experience working with urban school communities and an understanding of the challenges students face. Strong content knowledge in high school math, including Algebra I. Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written). Punctual, reliable, and committed to student success.
