POSITION PURPOSE: Beaufort County School District seeks classified persons to serve as tutors. To provide intensive and extensive tutorial services for identified students to develop successful academic skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provides academic assistance to assigned students, either in a group setting or one-on-one, as directed by the classroom teacher.
Collaborates with the classroom teacher to assess selected students and develop effective methods of tutorial service delivery.
Maintains records on each tutored student, including follow-up and periodic evaluation of progress.
Assists students in achieving a better understanding of specific subject material and helps them develop study skills necessary for academic success.
Helps students develop a positive attitude, a high level of motivation and self-confidence in academic work, serves as a role model for students being served.
Assists in designing and implementing cooperative group projects as needed.
Attends periodic training sessions to enhance competency in tutoring.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent or other district office administrator as designated by the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS degree in education preferred; Associates degree or equivalent education and experience required.
EXPERIENCE:
Prior tutorial experience preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of children.
Ability to work with others.
Willingness to follow directions.
Ability to handle unforeseen situations in accordance with Board Policy.
Ability to accept individual differences among children.
Good written and verbal communication skills.

Position Overview:
Horizons is seeking a Co-Teacher with an interest in working with youth and willingness to learn and implement best practices in youth development in a summer program setting. Qualifications:

Compensation: $15.00-$16.00 per hour
Qualifications:
Must meet basic requirements of local childcare regulatory agency
Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred
Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Plans with a member of the Leadership Team the parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations.

Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children's behavior.
Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions.
Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School of Godley Station, and the local, state, or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
