This role supports physicians in diagnosing and monitoring conditions related to pregnancy, gynecological health, and reproductive medicine. The technologist ensures patient safety, comfort, and dignity while adhering to established protocols, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. Clinical Duties * Perform obstetric ultrasounds (first trimester, second/third trimester growth scans, anatomy scans, biophysical profiles, Doppler studies, and amniotic fluid assessments). * Perform gynecologic ultrasounds (transabdominal and transvaginal) to evaluate pelvic structures, ovaries, uterus, and endometrium. * Capture high-quality diagnostic images and cine loops per physician order and protocol. * Identify, measure, and document fetal structures, growth parameters, and anatomical findings. * Assist in the evaluation of multiple gestations, high-risk pregnancies, and abnormal findings. * Provide preliminary impressions to physicians while avoiding independent diagnosis. * Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Patient Care * Explain procedures to patients, ensuring understanding and comfort. * Maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor with patients who may be anxious or in distress. * Protect patient privacy and adhere to HIPAA guidelines. * Assist patients in positioning and provide physical support when necessary. Education/Certificate/License * Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (with OB/GYN concentration preferred). * ARDMS certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) required; * Current certification or advanced experience in Fetal Echocardiography (FE). * Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
