ED Registration Clerk

Main Function:
Greeting our customers in a friendly and courteous manner to help customers feel welcomed to Wooster Community Hospital ED.
Help customers have a streamlined, private registration experience by accurately verifying patient demographics for those being seen in the ED.
Answering phone calls from various departments to complete customer check in or admissions.
Offer assistance to customers in need to create a supportive experience.
Assist team members with registration functions to support the team and customers.
Must Have Requirements:
Computer and other applications, Meditech computer system and or Registration experience.
Demonstrated effective oral communication skills including good telephone and email etiquette.
Ability to work under high volume and stressful situations within the ER setting
Must be organized and able to multi-task
Preferred Attributes:
High School Diploma or GED
Medical Terminology or Medical Office related Experience
Attention to details and organized; calm in a high-volume, fast paced environment; self- starting; excellent at multitasking and have a good sense of prioritizing duties. Candidates must have the ability to regularly stand, walk and push WOW (Workstation on Wheel) around the ED areas while performing mobile registration in the patient(s) room. Ability to adapt to any emergency circumstances with customers and remain professional.
Performance Special Requirements:
Must be able to perform all duties of registration areas
Ability to explain benefits of insurance including co-payments in accordance to Point of Service collection policy and documentation of account
Must have good communication skills oral, written and listening to patients
Flexible and long hours are sometimes required due to patient volume and department needs
Develop and maintain an ongoing understanding of current practices for the types of patients for whom care is provided
Follows appropriate Service Standards
Maintains knowledge of all aspect of patient access and maintains those skills for accuracy of performance
Performs other duties as requested by Director or Managers of Patient Access
Customer Service

Assesses customer satisfaction when interacting with patients and other non-patient customers and uses appropriate chain of command for unresolved issues or problems

Under limited supervision, the Wild Toledo Nursery Technician will perform a variety of duties related to the operation of Wild Toledo's Native Plant Nursery. Routine tasks include the culture and propagation of over 500 species of native plants, assisting with retail sales and customer interactions, and engaging with the public during educational outreach events. This position will also support Wild Toledo's native lepidopteran conservation initiatives by assisting with captive husbandry, data collection, and host plant propagation. Technicians will be cross-trained on all other Wild Toledo initiatives to provide occasional coverage and a wider range of experience and skills. Candidate will report to Wild Toledo Coordinator.
Minimum Training & Qualifications:
Preference will be given to current biology or horticulture students as well as those with degrees in the field.
Expected to work in regular field conditions that may include heat, humidity, rain, insect bites, and stings.
Weekend availability.
Must be at least 18+ years of age.
Must have a valid driver's license and be able to be insured through Zoo fleet carrier.
