Reporting to the Vice President/General Manager, the Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing processes, including materials management, planning, production control, mechanical & electrical assembly, and inventory management. This position is also responsible for managing plant safety and facility maintenance. The Director of Operations oversees all manufacturing activities while balancing tactical and strategic business directives. He/she must also be ready to demonstrate their skill and experience in a manufacturing environment delivering continuous improvement and driving professional development of the people. The primary goal of the of this role is to ensure that all manufacturing processes and related activities operate at the highest levels of Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost performance. Materials Management Oversee the management of procurement, planning, production control, inventory, warehouse/shipping & receiving. Drive material savings to achieve strategic objectives. Leverage systems to optimize planning, procurement, and warehouse management. Oversee the management of inventory planning & controls, including but not limited to: Developing stocking & replenishment strategies, setting safety stock, min/max and re-order point parameters, and define and establish inventory classifications. Drive problem-solving and continuous improvement to improve planning process. Quality Implement business process standard operating procedures (SOP's). Drive problem-solving, lessons learned and corrective actions. Develop and implement quality control procedures and protocols. Work collaboratively with functional leaders to implement new procedures and corrective actions to improve quality. Work closely with Engineering to improve existing products. Create machine-specific videos based on individual requests from the Sales or Marketing Department; these videos can include graphics, design work, audio, as well as narration. Support other Company initiatives such as team boards, 5S documentation, and safety video editing. Update and record all machine checklists including the electrical data sheets supplied by Manufacturing; maintain records and files of work following ProMach standards and procedures. The Buyer is a cross-functional position that is primarily responsible for purchasing parts from vendors and coordinating with job releases and customer orders in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to manage contractors on site. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with precision and accuracy. * Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification a plus. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, which include presentation skills. * Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCad. Ability to use specialized software for collaboration and time management. * Self-motivated multi-tasker with a strong attention to detail. * Advanced problem-solving, time management, and organization skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. * Proven leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading and mentoring project teams. * Ability to travel up to 20% (Primarily North America with some International).
