Responsibilities: Reviews job tickets to perform setup and operation of flexographic printing press to meet quality and productivity requirements per customer specification Completes documentation in accurate manner Change and install print cylinders and anilox rolls Change deck parts and ink pumps Set print cylinders into register Check proper tension settings, verify repeat lengths are correct, curl is minimized, adhesive weights are correct, and roll appearance and colors are correct Ensure quality and safe operation of equipment Complete processes within allotted set up time Setup and use AVT system Use QC tools to test protocols to monitor quality Monitors viscosity control Color match each color to customer specification Complete viscosity control log Trains Press Assistant Follow AIB guidelines Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety instructions Participate in ongoing CI and Focus improvement processes Background/Experience: * Minimum three years' experience working on flexographic print presses Education/Knowledge: * High School Diploma or equivalent * Must be able to read standard and metric measuring tape Specific Skills: This position has operations that require muscular coordination, proper lifting techniques and required lifting up to 75 pounds time to time. The Printing Press Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our Offset Lithographic Sheet-Fed Printing Presses. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality printed materials. PRINTING PRESS OPERATOR JOB SUMMARY: To lead the press crew in the everyday operation of the press, to ensure that we get make-readies and runs in the most efficient manner possible to achieve top quality production. They understand and align business operations and the Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives. Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following: JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following: * Setup and adjust press * Troubleshoot and correct quality/machine problems * Review job bag to ensure proper specifications * Direct crews to stay on task * Control color to proper delta E * Ability to use densitometer * Perform PM and minor repairs * Work with Printing Manager to suggest potential improvements (productivity, process & quality) * Ensure necessary color or register corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality of specifications of the work * Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully * Adjusts press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams, using hand tools. * Assist in removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools. * Wash blankets and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains, using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press. * Primary point man for maintenance of the press. * Performs other duties as required to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the Company.
