Conagra Brand Foods, Vlasic, located in Imlay City, Michigan, has an opportunity to meet regular production demand in the role of Process Room Assistant/Outside Feed (PR Assistant). The PR Assistant is normally required for full-time hours plus daily/weekend overtime as scheduled. The hourly rate of pay is $15.76/hr., $0.25/hour cold weather (Oct-April), 2nd shift premium of $0.25 (if applicable) as well as eligibility for employee benefit package.
PR Assistant will be required to utilize forklift and will receive OSHA required training and industry specific training. PR Assistant must know how to perform the job properly and safely as demonstrated by workplace evaluation. The PR Assistant is responsible for maintaining expected level of task completion in a safe manner and maintaining the highest quality at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Process Assistant is responsible for assisting the attendant in desalting salt stock for production. This position requires basic math skills and the ability to train direct new seasonal employees. The Process Assistant must be able to work closely with the QA lab and with the Tankyard.
REQUIREMENTS:

- We currently have openings on 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift.
- Starting pay is $18/hour, plus shift differential ($0.75 for 2nd shift, $1.50 for 3rd shift).
WHAT WE NEED:
The Processor Assistant helps to set up equipment for processing and will batch raw ingredients in accordance with cook cards and written batch instructions. This role works across many departments and functions and therefore, will gain a broad understanding of the BRF production processes. This is the training role that leads to Processor and various advancement roles in the organization.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Batches food product in accordance with Cook Cards and process instructions.
- Lifts and pours ingredients and raw materials into kettles and processing equipment/machine, for the line.
- Verifies that all materials used are correct for product being produced by checking Cook Cards.
- Setup of equipment for processing operations in accordance with product specifications.
- Assists in the cleaning of kettles and batch systems, including pumps, utensils, and general area cleaning.
- Completes all required batch paperwork accurately.
- Adheres to safety requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices, and maintains food safety standards.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Required Education/Experience:
- The ability to operate a forklift (prior experience preferred) and complete the internal certification program.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
K nowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Effectively read the cook cards, which are written in the English language, and complete batch paperwork.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrate basic mathematical competencies including, but not limited to, addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication of both fractions and whole numbers, and converting units of measurement.
- Work in a manufacturing environment, which includes fluctuation in heat, moisture, and noise.
- Wear Food Manufacturing GMP Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - hard hat, hairnet (head and beard if applicable), steel toes shoes/boots, and face mask.
- Work Overtime (8-10 hours per week) to assist the organization in meeting customer requirements.
- Display the ability to multi-task and perform essential job duties with a sense of urgency.
- Due to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language.

Performs pre-analytic specimen processing, operates a variety of laboratory and office equipment, enters information and test orders into the laboratory computer system and may respond to a high volume of phone calls seeking laboratory testing information. Is responsible for ensuring correct patient identification on specimens and documentation and resolution of pre-analytic specimen-related issues. They are an integral part of the laboratory team providing support in patient testing. May perform complex reagent preparation, manage work unit supply inventory, operate automated systems and provide training to others. Actively partner with team members by fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting others with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
*Individuals hired to this position are required to complete 2 years in the role before being eligible to transfer to other positions within Mayo Clinic*
Qualifications
Associate's degree OR High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years work experience including clinical laboratory and/or other relevant experience.

Additional qualifications
Associate's degree in a health or science field preferred. Previous experience or knowledge of computers and keyboarding, telephone operations and other office equipment desired. Ability to accurately read specimen labels and work with numbers to prevent mislabeling. Must be organized, able to prioritize and work in a fast paced environment. Must possess good human relations skills and be able to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. Must be able to accommodate scheduling adjustments, off-shifts, holiday, and weekend work assignments. Requires the ability to be attentive to details and to adhere to strict safety requirements for handling chemicals, reagents and infectious agents.
