**R&D Process Control Technician - Wilmington, DE**

Outsourcing & Consulting Group (KellyOCG), a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a **Process Control Technician** for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in **Wilmington, DE.** This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position. As a OCG employee you will be eligible for Medical, Dental, 401K and a variety of other benefits to choose from. You'll also be eligible for paid time off, including holiday, vacation and sick/personal time.

**This is a long-term contract role with no end date that includes benefits.** **Pay will be highly competitive based on background and experience, and relocation packages are offered for non-local candidates.**

The R&D Process Control Technician will support activities relating to the support of Allen Bradley process automation system. This includes preventative maintenance and 7x24 troubleshooting support for installed base systems, minimizing plant downtime caused by process automation system failures, while providing services that are cost effective and sustainable. The process control technician will have an overall knowledge of all current hardware, operating system software, networking systems and system software.

**_Key Job Responsibilities Include:_**

+ Assist with code creation to support changes driven by process needs and capital projects

+ Identify and assist with on-line documentation updates, graphics, and flowsheet modifications to support changes driven by process needs and capital projects

+ Assist with code fixes such as nuisance alarms and obvious code errors as identified by the run plant team

+ Assist the management of process information systems to fix nuisance alarms or low disc space problems

+ Assist with code testing and training for new equipment installations

+ Assist with Allen Bradley Process system loads and perform simulation system program loads

+ Participate in Root Cause Analysis of plant problems to help support solutions that require process control modifications or additions.

+ Work with Allen Bradley support group to effectively address identified problems beyond the Process Control Technician's level of expertise

+ Participate in audits and reviews of Process Control Strategy Descriptions (PCSD's) for new equipment installations

**_Requirements_**

+ Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required.

+ In addition, successful candidates must have either:

+ Associate degree or higher in Process Technology, Automation, Information Technology, or similar discipline. In lieu of a degree, will consider those with 4 or more years of relevant military experience.

+ A minimum of 4 years of experience in an operation role in which the responsibilities included working with process automation systems and applications

+ Able to work overtime as needed.

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.

**Process Control Technician - Dublin, GA**

**The opportunity:**

This role will report to the Dublin Mill Engineering Manager and will interface closely with two (2) process controls engineers. There is also an expectation that this role will work closely with the mill's E&I Superintendent, Planner and E&I Technician staff.

**How you will impact WestRock:**

· Act as single point to organize and structure all the DCS and QCS maintenance activities.

· Assist in creating more bandwidth for the Process Control Group to support the mill's needs on an ad hoc basis.

· Take the lead in process controls WO completion.

· Drive process variability reduction efforts.

· Create, follow, and maintain new controls standards with the control engineers.

· Learn, deploy and teach the Foxboro Control Editor engineering tools.

· Create PM jobs in JDE with the proper work order generation frequency for the specific activities (applicable checklists for weekly, monthly, and quarterly activities for each type of equipment).

· Provide oversight to E&I technicians in deploying these PM jobs; develop and report status of PM programs.

· Assist with reduction of process variability:

· Via loop tuning

· By optimizing control strategies

· By identifying and resolving problematic instrumentation (transmitters and valves) and coordinating resources to solve problems.

· By optimize the controls relationship and interaction between the QCS and the DCS

· Act as the primary interface for emergency process control work completion.

· Develop a training plan for Process Control related items as technology changes and upgrades are implemented for E&I Technicians and PC Engineers.

**What you need to succeed:**

· Must have a high school diploma or GED.

· Must have technical certification in instrumentation, process controls, bachelor's degree or commiserate experience.

· Computer literacy required, with MS Office experience a plus.

· Experience in JDE, PI, and CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems).

· 5 years' experience in instrumentation or process control in manufacturing environment.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, co-workers, and management.

· Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and respond to call-ins when contacted.

**Job Responsibilities**

+ Under the direction of a lead or supervisor, employees in this classification, Specialist perform highly skilled work on the full range of systems and equipment, demonstrate a high degree of expertise on most or all the systems and work independently with little assistance from a lead or supervisor.

+ May also develop new methods or procedures for carrying out unique assignments; and give direction, instruction, and support to others.

**Characteristic Duties**

+ Design, install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and calibrate complete systems and components including control programming software/tools, computers, communications networks, and software.

+ Work with engineers and other groups on the design, re-design, installation, modification, and performance of new systems.

+ Perform preventive maintenance and functional analysis of all these systems, including the ability to work with the software.

+ Install, configure, and use software to complete instrumentation tasks, write PLC ladder logic and/or function block programming to meet technical specifications, and document ladder logic clearly and accurately.

+ Starts up, certifies, and commissions new instrumentation systems, documents startup and testing procedures for new and existing equipment.

+ Implement alarm limits, priority of alarms for paging and notification, change set points, tuning constants and other parameters, and document and communicate all changes or modifications.

+ Plan own work based from assignments given, and prioritize urgency.

+ Provide direction for Process Control Instrumentation Technicians.

+ Write work plans for performing work and procedures for documenting new and existing systems.

+ May generate written Operating Procedures (SOP) for use by other staff.

+ May perform any of the duties described in the Process Control Installation Technician specification or other duties as assigned.
